The Yaris is a family car these days... The Aygo would have been the supermini, but is also now small family car sized. Don't let the car makers fool you just because they keep the model the name the same. It doesn't mean the vehicle stays in the same class.
According to the Toyota website, the Yaris starts from £22k!!!!! So, not even close to supermini pricing either!!
The current Yaris is still smaller than a 20 year old Corolla, in length and width, I'm sure the Corolla was much cheaper though 20 years ago! Superminis are getting bigger, and I'm sure they still make for good family cars, but they are still superminis and the Corolla is toyota's family hatchback.According to the Toyota website, the Yaris starts from £22k!!!!! Now going off topic, I agree re pricing though, but like everything nowadays prices are ridiculous. The local Ford garage has a 69 plate Fiesta (looks an ST-Line, definitely not an ST) for £20k, it has been there for about three months, but £20k for a 3 year old Fiesta is ridiculous.
I've got a 2017 Astra, got it nearly new, I think the list price was £18k, mine was £12k at 6 months old, I'm thinking of replacing it, and it's been a very good car, so looked at the new Astra in the equivalent high spec model, and it's nearly £30k now, and nearly new makes no difference in price! The 2017 Astra is going to stay till it dies now.

The height difference is notable but, as with all these pictures, all that's really needed is a comparison of wheel size.
