Not from me you won't...I was only ever a Mk.1 owner, couldn't quite bring myself to join the tupperware party rofl

I also owned a Twin Cam and briefly a Mexico as well.

(to drop into my old RS2000 Registrar anorak mode laugh from my days on AVO OC committee) the inserts on the RS alloys on the Mk.1 were never black, they were a metallic graphite grey in colour wink )
MK 1 wins hands down in the looks department though I have a real problem with the alloys.

I absolutely love the steelies on them with the grey centres. Great look

I like the MK1 as a road car, much nicer lines and better decals.

But as a rally/track car, a mk2 with wide arches is hard to beat.
Yep, pretty much agree with this.

Unarched AVO Mk.1's best in road car trim very much so, and yes, can't beat a Mk.2 in Grp.4 rally spec. (still have a vivid teenage memory of standing right next to Roger's Daily Express RS1800, & Waldegard's British Airway's RS1800 in the queue for the start ramp at Wembley stadium for the start of the '77 RAC, which was the final time the RAC started from London)

I have noticed that (new to me) dealer popping up a lot in the last couple of weeks, with a lot of ambitious pricing.

I think Steve is a wee bit excited. I reckon he has worked hard to get this private seller to sell through him, and couldn't get it on eBay fast enough.

Even though its a complete recreation built around a number plate and logbook, its been done very well.

Would have been nicer put back to its Boreham spec as a Twink rather than in its later BDA spec, but understandably not be a competitive car should an owner wish to use it on Historic events, so can understand why it was rebuilt to the '71 Scottish spec.

Boreham converted it to round headlights in late '68 when they built into Grp.6 spec for use as a recce car for the '69 Monte, as seen here with RAC, Jim Porter, and mechanics Ken Wiltshire and the legend that was Mick Jones in the background taken at a snowy Boreham prior to departure for the '69 Monte.

XOO 354F was first registered on 6th Feb 1968.
The first 25 cars were all built by Mick's team at Boreham over the winter of 67/68, ready for the infamous FIA inspection with all the 1300GT's parked at Boreham laugh So, yes 354F might technically have been built in '67.
The only thing original is the log book. From what I can make out, this is potentially its 3rd shell?

The advert describing the car looks to be very comprehensive, it cover's most things you would need to know if a buyer has interest in the car, which is good thing to see nowadays.

Something of interest too and which features the car is worth having a look through below, it's an article about some of the Rally-winning Mk1 Escorts... here's a quote "In this article we look back at the four models of Mk 1 Escort that saw service as works cars, since it was this shape that first appeared all those years ago and the model that enjoyed the greatest mechanical diversity".

Interesting that article chose to use a photo of RAC driving FEV 5H on the '70 Circuit of Ireland, calling it a Twin Cam, which it was badged as, but it was in effect a Grp.6 RS1600 prototype, as it was BDA powered.

Massive error though in the photo caption of the RS2000's at Cadwell on '74 Tour of Britain......Ari Vatanen and Jim Clark racing hard in the '74 Tour of Britain..........rofl
Doesn't anyone proof read this stuff.......Jim had been dead 6 years by then.
Caption of course should read Gerry Marshall (in 446M) and Roger Clark (in 445M)
