Grinnall did much to sort the looks and performance with their TR8 convertible. Bulging arches and Rover SD1 rear lights. Or you could just by a TVR wedge.
I used to have a tvr wedge in the early 90's. I lost count of the number of people who confused it with a sodding TR7.!
Until you fired it up smile

True. Those TR7s were pretty loud.

Spookily saw two TR7s on a low loader on the A487 north of Cardigan on Friday morning.

Apparently this one is owned by Mackenzie Crook, but driven by Toby Jones in the excellent Detectorists series.

AIUI, he bought it after they had filmed series one.

I assume it took a whole series to find actual metal?

Sounds familiar. I recall being asked, “what sort of Triumph is this mate?” several times when I had my 3000M.

In my local transmission specialist today:

J reg - 1970 ish

Lovely. Well cared for.

Introduced the gaffer to the concept of the Jensen FF. He wasn't aware of such a beast. Kids today. I tell ya.

Indeed. A 6.3. They've also worked on the 7.2. They weren't aware of the existence of the Jensen FF.

Which I thought was odd for a transmission specialist.

Ferguson Formula. Maxaret brakes. They'd love to work on one.

My mate's mum had a white Lada 1500 estate version of that FIAT and we were shipped to school in it back in the early 80s when it would have been quite new. Proper Soviet pov spec with black vinyl seats giving the much loved scorching in summer / freezing in winter sensation familiar to all short trousered schoolboys of the time. The seating was most definitely not "in style".....
