i think its pretty fitting with this thread, as it was left to die and is completely rotten.
its been of the road 7 years and in anyones eyes but mine it was fit only for scrap.
but no its getting patched up and will be on the road shortly.
its a Prefacelift Omega MV6 of which there is less than 120 left, with about .a quarter of that on the road.

Good for you. Took these for granted when they were new, but started to take an interest a few years ago when I had a Monaro. Nice cars.

that might be an RS2000 mk2 in teracotta behind the yellow GT6. I know which one Id rather save!
Not a GT6 it's a Spitfire a MkIV I think.Glasgowrob said:

Firstly. Did the welder do it whilst drunk and secondly what is it?
Looks like a Mondeno. Whatever it is it’d better be someone interesting because it’s not really fitting in this thread!

Nice car btw - and very under appreciated. Well done on saving it
their absolutely fantastic cars, and tick all the boxes for a future classic.
3.0 v6 manual box, rwd and will go sideways for fun, modern enough to be reliable and old enough that their easy to work on.
aircon xenons full leather recaros, ticks every box and will do a genuine 150mph. whats not to like. you could slip a proper v8 in without much effort if you want to mod it for more sideways fun and big numbers but even as standard with a few tweaks its a 240bhp car. which is sufficient

I might be biased, but I think the Omegas (pre-facelift, at least) are getting to be on the modern side of classic now.3.0 v6 manual box, rwd and will go sideways for fun, modern enough to be reliable and old enough that their easy to work on.

I can't count how many cheap MV6s with manual gearboxes I passed up, thinking I'd just get the next one. When I went to look for one, they were all gone so we settled for a good CDX 2.5. Damn good cars then and now:

Plate is actually SHADOW - no numbers or dodgy spacing, just 6 letters arranged to spell the model of car
Sometimes I guess we forget there is life outside the UK! LOLClick on profile and you will see the car is in Australia.
Best I got was SHA 110W with a couple of screws to make the 11 a D

I should have put a comma in. It was the MkIV bit in question, surely too early for a 1500?
No - it is an early Spitfire 1500. You can just see part of the black Spitfire 1500 model designation transfer sticker on the bonnet. The Mk IVs had a metal badge in approximately the same place. It is also on an 'R' plate. The 1500 was introduced on an 'N' plate.TR4man said:
I've posted a picture of this forlorn Ferrari a couple of years ago but it is still there gently rusting away.
It has not moved from this driveway for at least 15 years or so. I'd imagine it is almost worthless now

For restoration, the story behind this car is I lost the keys 3 years after a nut and bolt restoration (i need my arse kicking for this) and never got around to doing anything about it
well, thats a new one !The seller certainly has a sense of humour. It hasn't moved an inch in 16 years or so.
Funnily enough he appears to have a Quattroporte frequently parked up against that hedge as well. No doubt a decade from now, that will still be there too!

He may also want to look up what a "nut and bolt" restoration is.....Funnily enough he appears to have a Quattroporte frequently parked up against that hedge as well. No doubt a decade from now, that will still be there too!

Is it even save-able? The business case is borderline at best, parts costs are terrifying and mint 400's from reputable classic dealers go for 40 - 60k so there isn't much in it.
