Classics left to die/rotting pics - Vol 2
Discussion
This XJS is parked on a 20 degree slope, it must be seized solid in place. Looks like it is slowly being glued to the driveway by organic growth around the tyres.
I showed this to a friend of mine who's name bears a considerable similarity to this numberplate, he loves these and this photo made him weep softly, knowing that A) the owner would probably never sell it to him and B) the condition was visibly deteriorating.
In a sleepy rural village in Oxfordshire.
Pretty sure I posted this one some months back but it seems there's a large number of v12 jags in states of rust on people's driveways, why is that? Are they awaiting a halcyonic revival of interest in these heavy blocks of retro rust? Who knows.
In E3 area, East London.

No, it wasn't your one Sim - I seem to remember it was that light metallic blue. And every fuse had suffered corrosion - and it had all the gizmos, leccy seats etc, and nothing electrical worked on it ...
I think he paid not a lot and sold it on for not a lot, either ... !

You know, he should at least ask. That's how I got my Quattro.Dapster said:
Very early lhd WR with the quad headlamps. Someone braver (and richer) than me would need to take that on.
Yes, it's the genuine ur- of ur-s. I'd be very happy to take that on at the right price, but I think it's probably long gone by now, and unlikely to be the right price. Nice colour too, I think Helios Blue?LotusOmega375D said:
Indeed, when and why did the "Ur-" of Ur-Quattro become a moniker for later models? It used to be the description used for these early LHD only models.
I think once "quattro" (lower case) became the term for the 4 wheel drive version of any Audi model, the term "Ur-Quattro" became known as the way to refer to the original Audi Quattro (upper case) - any iteration of the full house turbo version. And yes, this one is Helios Blue Metallic (code LA5Y).
