My father had one of those side cars attached to his Vincent. Four of us used to travel on/in it, Father and Brother (aged about 10) on the bike, mum and me (aged about 5) in the side car. Yorkshire to Devon for a Holiday, back on the train when the big end went...S100HP said:
That's brilliant - all sorts of odd-ball stuff to spot in the traffic.S100HP said:
Brilliant vid. Loads of 1970s stuff still everyday vehicles - Mk 2 Escort, Cortinas, Rover SD1s, Dolomites. And for the plate geeks among us SA 19 - issued in 1904 - on a Merc, now resides on a 1990 fezza.S100HP said:
Only two Audis that I could spot. And a Ferrari 308/328, in white.S100HP said:
Living up to my username, Datsun Laurel spotted at 1:50, and a big old 260C/280C shortly afterwards.Toyota Land Cruiser at 5:30, maybe an import/foreign visitor as it looks like it might be LHD.

No exotic cars on show, but a nice clear picture of Birmingham city centre, around 35 years ago.
I ended up working in two of the buildings in the picture, New Street signal box and Stanier House, the large office building in the background with the BR logo on it.
I think that picture shows Navigation Street. Just out of shot to the right of the picture must be the Golden Eagle, Hill Street I think. It was a great music venue in it's day (I played there a few times) but was demolished years ago.I ended up working in two of the buildings in the picture, New Street signal box and Stanier House, the large office building in the background with the BR logo on it.
Edit: Is that Drumland to the left on the corner. I played drums back then but don't remember Drumland. I always 'shopped' around the corner (literally) at a shop on Queensway (can't remember the name) or Woodroffes or Musical Exchanges.

Very few BMWs but more Mercedes. Two 911s, no 924/944s, a couple of XJS’ and a Morris Minor that would have been classic even then.
