Classics left to die/rotting pics

A lot of those pics make my blood boil - these people who say "oh I'll get round to it some day" or "that'll be worth a few quid in a few years time". They're just preventing somebody else from doing the job properly, someone who cares.
Nice cars lost forever.
I was thinking the exact same thing when looking at the pictures on this thread yesterday. It makes me even more angry when people leave cars that are actually worth something - in my mind it would be better to sell them to someone who can do the job properly.Nice cars lost forever.
I know a local guy who has had a 1978 Spitfire 1500 since new or nearly new. He had a Herald as his first car, the car failed it's MoT on chassis rust so he rebuilt on a Vitesse chassis with a bonnet extension to accommodate the Vitesse's 6 pot. When he completed the Herald in 1988, the Spitfire was parked up due to rusty sills. Having left the car sat outside for 23 years he started the restoration on the car last year shortly after I made an offer on the car. He has now made some progress and outside the house is only the bodytub of the Spitfire.
Below is a link to his website, clearly a man talented in restoring cars so don't see why he would leave a car standing over holes in the sills.

23 years!!!! It's just making the job that much harder. At least he's got round to it.
BTW the Herald looks A1 - I've nothing against mods like that, it may have been done in period.
It's the people who aren't really classic enthusiasts who annoy me, the ones who have the cars rotting on their drive because they think they are worth something, when they have no intention of starting any work. Just wasting everyone's time, and losing a good car forever.

I passed this in a little village in west Wales on the weekend. Looks to have been there a while. Around the side of the hotel is a silver e46m3 and a few miles away I past a seemingly abandoned BMW 845 or 850. Sat on a drive with weeds growing round it.
I've asked a girl I know from the village to ask her mum about the owner. Could be worth a chance trying to save it.
How very dare you. Both the pub and the car are in normal daily use.I've asked a girl I know from the village to ask her mum about the owner. Could be worth a chance trying to save it.

Been in the same spot for over six months now...
That's actually exceptionally rare with those wheels. Be interesting to know whether it has 3B or ABY engine. Been in the same spot for over six months now...

Great photos, I lived in London for 8 months a few years back and really miss the mixture of vehicles both on and off the road - Every weekend I'd get out on my bike and snap whatever I could.

I saw the above collection on a fleeting visit down south a couple of weeks back, sadly while in a car myself so no photo. Here's some I don't think I've posted before:Seen in Shirley
