Old Car Brochures

Brochures? Where do I start? More collected over the years than it is healthy to admit to, I used to write to garages in the 70s asking for brochures in a pseudo-adult way and then wait for the mail to arrive. Some of the covering letters I still have offer provenance and a snapshot into a more gentile sales world, which, for me anyway, seems like only yesterday. I am amazed that many salesmen took the time to respond, declining my requests.

This is the very magazine that started it all for me.

I can only see 2 pictures? (but I can see from the quote there should be a bunch more?)[url]

Not a brochure as such but I have a mint condition Toyota GT-One press pack from LeMans. Thinking of framing it as it just sits packaged up in a draw but before I do I'm interested to know if it could be worth anything now or in years to come. I don't want to frame it if it has some value.
It doubtless will have value in years to comewilliamp said:
I know we prefer the originals, but there are some scanned images of some very rare brochures here, including aston martin

I wouldn't mind one original of each of those Aston brochures! http://cdm16038.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/search/sear...

I've got a few mainstream BMW ones from the late 90s early 00s as that's when my dad was looking at BMWs. So I used to go to the dealer and nab a couple every time he went in, including a 7 series Hardback one.
Got a couple of Jaguar ones (S type and Xkr) too
Do you want me to dig my ones out as above or are you looking for older ones?Got a couple of Jaguar ones (S type and Xkr) too
Yes, I'd be interested in crossing your palm with some silver for those!

Anybody had any experience with "Pooks" in Leicestershire.. they advertise wanting brochures,I have 1000's and I do mean 1000's just sitting in folders in the loft and plenty of exotic stuff going back to the early 60's/70's all in perfect condition and clearly worth a few quid these days...
I've been to Pooks a few times, amazing piles of stuff they have. They also seem to achieve 2 - 3 times the price that you or I would get.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
