MGB Sebring Turbo - Pic Heavy
Discussion
just thought i'd put a little update. Dropped the front crossmember out last night ready to do some work today. Xmember is in a bit of a state so decided to shot blast it this evening and then paint it tomorrow before rebuilding it
Plan was good, Putting the plan into action didn't work out so well.
First bit of drama was stabbing myself in the hand with a chisel whilst cleaning off caked grease. Next bit of drama was a clogged up feed line on the shot blaster, I was trying to recycle my grit as much as possible and I went a bit too far with it. I now have to clean out the line tomorrow and get some new glass beads instead of using sand grit.
Some pics, only managed to do 1 corner of the Xmember, the rest of it should come up nicely
STAY TUNED

Why did you use a Rubber bumper crossmember? It is an inch higher than chrome.
didn't have much of a choice. The chrome bumper one didn't have enough meat for me to modify it enough to get the engine sat in. If you look at the modified crossmember and imagine another inch removed from the bottom there is only about 1/2 an inch of metal left Using the rubber bumper one was much, much easier.

Does the K series mean the heater has to go?
I'm using the T series engine, not the k series. I don't know much about a k series conversion as i haven't done it but I think you could keep the heater but you'd have to modify other things like I have. y2blade said:

All the best with it.

Got some more done today...front bottom wishbones shotblasted ready for painting tomorrow
only pictured 1 side so you get the idea.
Stay tooned
Hi again,
Sorry for not updating this much over the past year. Since moving into these new premises and the last time I worked on the B we've been mega busy with work coming in...good for the wallet but means no time for playing about
The only thing that has been done since the last update is the bonnet has been finished and painted in the ground coat.
So much for getting it done by august
