have you tried the owners club? ASOC, email the club lotus@asoc.co.uk or https://www.asoc.co.uk/contact
You'll probably have better luck trying the Sunbeam-Lotus Owners Club, as its exclusively for the Lotus and many Lotus owners don't or didn't join the Avenger & Sunbeam Owners Club as well.

Purely by chance I found my old Moonstone / Silver cars paperwork last night !
It’s reg number is URY 654X
It was sold new to Benson Shoes LTD of Connaught Street, Leicester.
I sold it to someone from near Peterborough.
I’ve just been told that it was for sale about 3 years ago, sadly minus its engine and box and has been re painted white !

Anyone recognise it ??

.........one for the Seriously Overpriced thread I suspect but somehow I will be very surprised if it goes for that.
Still if it drags all the other survivors up in value with it then I'm not complaining.

Yep, that other low mileage one went for £52k-ish a year+ ago, so I agree 65k is very optimistic in my view, however, what is being asked, and what the owner is realistically expecting or willing to take is another matter.

What's all this crap about ASOC on their page giving it large about them being the original and best club for the Sunbeam-Lotus...rolleyes

It's a never ending saga of animosity between the two clubs. I have my views on what's going on but prefer to stay out of it on a public forum.
Still in light of 50Y coming onto the market several other short term owners have expressed the possibility of selling their cars on the Facebook Sunbeam enthusiasts page in the hope of quick profit.

Well......the original club for the Sunbeam-Lotus was neither of them, as it was the Sunbeam Register of Club Lotus, so ASOC should stfu....

And the only reason there was the impetus to 'go it alone' and start SLOC as a break-away from Club Lotus was because people had been joining ASOC, but were not 'feeling the love' towards the Lotus specifically from ASOC, which is rather ironic given their statements now. I always got on OK with the guy from ASOC that started it (names escapes me now), as I'd owned a Ti, and was hoping it would turn up in ASOC.

There really is no need for any attitude between two like minded clubs, and its depressing to such blatant arseyness posted by current ASOC officials.

That's its second feature in a magazine then, some 30 years after the first one... smile

Still looked better with the Springalex steering wheel, works AP brakes and magnesium Minilites on it though wink

Apparently, those pictures are not recent but stock studio shots. 71 now appears to be rally prepped with cage and other comp equipment and is looking a bit tired.

Nice one on eBay at the moment (not mine unfortunately but DAC 69Y) bid up to 31k with 4 days left if anyone is looking for a car that doesn't need work.

Pretty sure that was the one that sold for £52k ish about 3 years ago....?

If so, its not been driven anywhere in that time as the mileage is still the same (or the speedo cable has been disconnected when it has been driven)
