I drive my 30 year old MR2 to work every day.
And in this case, to the library :

Work today and then to the swimming pool. Unless there is salt on the road or the TR4 is out to play then the 635 is the daily driver. Stops em seizing up! Nice chunky landrover to park next to.

It's kind of difficult to realise that it's 30 years old already. Where did the time go? confused

I remember when they were new - Japan's first mid-engined car IIRC. It only took me 20 years to buy one.

Intended to do so, but woke up late so didn't have time to get it out the shed frown

That'd be fun when stuck in a traffic jam ;-)

Hi, yes it went to Oz when new, where the main body was then built and fitted. A dealer then shipped it here a few years ago, and I bought it from him.

It's a Lancia Beta Coupe. I had one in the late 1980's ... Black 2 litre, one of the last sold. Very pretty. really lovely to drive but sadly not the most reliable. Traded it in for a Mitsubshi Starion turbo which was even worse ... even more rusty and mechanically unsound ! .. On balance I preferred the Lancia.

The bikes are a Morini 350 S and a Yamaha RD 125DX, plus my brother's Dragstar.

Often get polarised views on the car, but Friday had the opposite ends within seconds...

Stuck in heavy traffic, warm sunny afternoon, so windows down. Alongside pulls an E24 635CSi. The BMW's new owner is obviously enthusiastic and we trade banter before the lights change, moving of with a grin and a thumbs-up.

I roll to a rest next to a 991 911 Carrera S. Driver also has the windows down, so I look across to acknowledge another enthusiast, by which I'm greeted with a quick look up and down, and the driver's window being closed. Whatever.

As the traffic moves off, my car gives a pleasing rumble, which seems to provoke the car in front of the Carrera, this time a 991 911 Carrera GTS. The response by that driver is to show what a complete arse he is by suddenly shooting into the bus lane and weaving in and out of the traffic using what sounds like the whole rev-range of the engine. Passed him a few mins later, as he was stuck to the rear of the E65 to Curl Curl.

So, a bit of banter, followed by a snooty glance, and ended with a trumpet.

Commuting in it again tomorrow.

So good they named it twice...

Yep, find Sydney, look for the beaches to the north of the CBD area - Manly and up
