Wow. Is it a fully restored concours car?

£51.750 was the hammer price. Apparently, by the time you've added the auction fees and VAT it works out at around £60k. So definitely a record road car price.
Well, Silverstone Buyers Premium is 12.5%
Probably a bit too much of a coincidence that 51,750 divides exactly by this so I'm guessing:

Hammer price £46K + £5750 (BP) + 20% VAT = £52900 Final Price

No, 8,000 miles from new, all original and unmolested.

Ah right makes sense also. Can't be many left like it now.

An upward trend is no good if you want to buy one. I sold mine for £4200 which was the going rate for a good, not concours example. I’d have another tomorrow for similar money.
That must have been a long time ago then.
Ha, must have been feeling a bit down that day, I’m not one to usually moan about prices- I passed my test in a £50 mk1 escort. Same car now would be five figures.
Ok, my sunbeam lotus ownership would have been around 15 years ago, boy time goes quickly! It was a clean car, good interior, lower half just resprayed and with new silver stripes. It also had the Skip Brown Roadsport conversion done by a previous owner. But mid £4K was the going rate.
