Yes.
My thoughts are that it's a bit of a bargain at that price.....if it is as solid as it looks.....

Another vote for the Italians. Owned this very car in the past and it’s an excellent drive (no vested interest in this sale I might add)

This. 2L DOHC, twin Webers, 5 speed, LSD, large boot. What’s not to like? https://classicalfa.com/1971-2000-berlina-lhd-15-7...

As you’re in France how about a Peugeot 504 v6 coupe or, if budget allows, a convertible?

Thanks. We had a couple of 504 estates when I was a kid and we lived in the uk. One of them followed us over to France and survived another few years before being taken away for scrap but happily was found driving around Morocco years later.I just showed a picture of a lotus elan to swmbo: "is that a toy car?" and then a 30s Riley saloon : "I don't like it". She likes the Landy, when asked about the Alvis she replied : "bof".
I've been in the garage changing a leaky wheel cylinder on the TR as well as a weeping clutch master cylinder. It is so easy to work on, I love it.

Because I feel reliability is a main need (don’t want to be breaking down on a road trip with 2 young kids in the back ), my recommendations would be a 944 S2, an MGB GT(1.8)……or:

"...with good spares availability..." would narrow the choice down a bit if it was me asking the question. Some of the cars suggested survive in very small numbers so I'd go for ...<thinks>... maybe a Volvo Amazon. Not the 'sexiest' of cars perhaps but robust, spacious, tuneable and practical - and hugely enjoyable from what I've seen on navigational events.

The magnolia colored Berlina currently at Hill Farm is the most bodged up Alfa I have ever seen! I inspected it at the NEC PC show auction last year and while it looks superficially respectable from 6 foot, it has a ton of filler in it covering rot in the lower wings, door bottoms, sills, valences - and a nice fist sized hole in the drivers floor plan to top it off. It’s basically a full restoration project masquerading as a Condition 2 car, which is why no-one can shift it. Bid them £3-4K max if you want it, or better still, run in the opposite direction!!
A salutary warning, thank you muchly.shed driver said:
never driven one, but that brought me to an idea what I saw last week in a ad, a sort like look car but then from Volvo, a Amazon with a Honda 243ps engine, pretty cool I thought.more info>
