Lots of Mk1 Escort fans out there - so here's a Zakspeed Mk1 in classic colours, shown here in Germany enroute to the UK. Drool!

Refreshing that the owners of that chippy managed to resist the obvious play on words.

Awesome, brilliant. But I couldn't contemplate owning/using such a thing.

I'm glad someone does though. biggrin

I'll buy it. What is the relationship between Gilbern and Reliant?

This is the sort of thing I really like to see. I had a quick chat with the owner, he's had it from new and it's a credit to him.
Same model and age as my first company motor - not even a rear wash wipe, and no pas or c/l or a s/r. However, it has one design feature that I consider pretty good - the lip of the 'boot' effectively keeps road spray off the rear window (unlike my colleagues contemporary Astra).

That colour is rather fetching - mine was stomach-upset brown...

Amazing model.

I used to work about 100 yards up the road from the small factory unit where it was made (I never saw any Daleks in the street though).

Shawcraft Models Ltd. (1967): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1M_t6okgEa0 - the film includes footage of a Corsair model being made!

Is that it? I reckon you're right, but I was hoping for some insight into shared designers, financiers, production facilities or, well, something. Foo. Good looking cars the Genie and Invader. They've stood the test of time. A bloke I worked with recently has a Genie. He was honest about the car's rather primitive nature. I don't think any of the Essex V6 GRP cars were as well sorted or as quick as the 3 litre Capri.
