Are you sure, RichB? More Chimaeras, true, but the ratio is likely less than 3:1.
A bit less than 2,300 Griffs versus around 6,000 chimaeras seems best bet.
I could check; certainly the figure of 9:1 sticks in my mind but that may have been output towards the end of the era however the Griff was around for several years before the Chimaera appeared. A bit less than 2,300 Griffs versus around 6,000 chimaeras seems best bet.
Griff = 1128 Number of vehicles licensed or SORN, since 1994
Chim = 4224 Number of vehicles licensed or SORN, since 1994
Don't rely on that web site. TVRs were not necessarily registered as what they actually were and I've seen many instances of people claiming there's only X Y or Z left of a particular car when it's nonsense.
Someone (on the internet) claimed there were only 30 DB2s left in UK - I've been at club meetings with more than that on the car park
ETA - although I may have been wrong about the 1:9 ratio. That may have been production at it's height.

Thought its about time I'd upload a few pics!
Bought a few years ago after it had been stored for a quite a while, had a few teething troubles but has been fairly reliable since!! I've had it resprayed (properly) recently as the old paint was covered in micro-blisters, plus I've replaced the interior as it was literally disintegrating! It's great fun to drive on country roads down here, certainly a nice change to all the modern euro boxes I've driven. Not the obvious choice for a 22 year old but beats the golfs and audis most people my age have. I use it as often as possible but it's not a daily driver... Modern car parks would leave it looking pretty sorry after a while!

Good for you, welcome to the wonderful world of classic motoring. It'll drive you mad at times but overall an enjoyable experience.

I have one of those. The engine was seized when it arrived so I put a chev V8 behind the seats. Plenty of room between the rails. Also changed the diff to a one tonner 2.78:1. Using a Toyota Supra 5 speed. Here she is seeing daylight for the first time in a few months. I had to take the wheels off to fit it in.
Acres of space when you move it back.

You need to do a build thread on this !
This country is a goldmine of fantastic old cars, more varieties than Heinz soup, but it marvellous what we all have tucked away in sheds. Doesn't matter if finished or work in progress -they are saved from scrappie hell and exist for another day.
some really great little articles pop up in this thread.

I just don't get the affection for these camper vans. Unless you're a wind surfer who goes down to Poole harbour at weekends they seem pointless. I had one "back in the day" a Bedford Dormobile, it was Dreadful with a capital D. Is it the Aussie surfer image of sun tanned gods performing "daring-do", I don't know? Fair play to those who like them but I'd like to understand the attraction.
