Fiat are only really known for their small cars here. Anything bigger than the Punto and they struggle, though TBH the Bravo is probably past its sell by date by now. Not sure if the 'new' Tipo; is coming here.http://left-lane.com/european-car-sales-data/fiat/...
The 2.0 Multijet 165 hp / 360 Nm looks like a Golf basher. But I guess that did not happen. Still a good looking car.
My Dad always had company cars, mostly Cortinas and Cavaliers.
There were a couple of oddities though: a 1972 Mazda 1800 Deluxe estate in white (HOT460L) and a 1976 Fiat Supermirafiori Panorama estate, also in white with tan velour seats.
The Mazda was remembered fondly and covered over 100,000 miles in 3 years, and I don’t remember ever seeing another one on the road.
I remember thinking it was a bit of a Triumph 2000 rip-off, which I guess isn’t a bad thing as it was a nice-looking car in my opinion.
The Fiat didn’t last as long, my Dad blew the diff trying to get up an icy hill and I never saw it again.

I was surprised when a friend pointed out to me that you can no longer buy a new petrol VW Passat in the UK, only diesel ones.
I briefly wondered if that's partially because the Passat VII hasn't been out very long here, but a quick look at VW.de shows 1.4 125/1.4 150/1.8/2.0 220/2.0 280 4Mo available there. So it must be a conscious market decision by VW UK...I was surprised when a friend pointed out to me that you can no longer buy a new petrol VW Passat in the UK, only diesel ones.

Quite. Clearly VW UK have decided there is no commercial worth in importing the petrol ones, or VW have decided it's not worth engineering RHD versions.Lowtimer said:

A quick (and lucky) bit of random clicking on VW's Japan website finds a PDF brochure, which (AFAICT) suggests the 1.4TSi 150 is the ONLY engine available there.
