Loved how the spray job had to be done at night (do they not have humidified spray booths?) & at 8a.m. the following morning it comes out with all its lights & shiny chrome fitted like thats the usual thing to do in a spray booth whilst its still drying is fit everything to it.
Oh, & 'new brake discs fitted' as the guys putting a drum on.
I record this which means all the staged arguments I can fast forward through & I can watch the programme in half an hour.
At least with Wheeler Dealers you can learn a bit about car restoration during the programme unlike this joke. Got to admit though it is car crash TV that you can't keep away from.

the windscreen that he "dropped" - he launched it as far as he could, and they could have got one the same shape/colour or even put a rear view mirror on it.
credit where its due they managed to squeeze a smoke machine low down in the engine bay, i must put one in next time ive got a customer with incorrect spark.
and dont even get me started on that MG last week with the suspension that dropped off.
I wouldnt let that Bernie idiot check my tyre pressures the raisin faced twonk.
rant over.

Comedy gold. The "windscreen donor" mustang being on top of a Volvo when there was open space all around. The joke smoke when they tried to start it. The repeat row and walk=out by the staff. Putting on the new wheels before respray, when slave wheels were available. Mario not checking the state of the original engine before agreeing a price.
Pathetic, but compulsive viewing.
You're half right.Pathetic, but compulsive viewing.

Yup, my tactics exactly,I'll wiz through this when I surface tomorrow afternoon, never thought I'd think working nights was a good thing but it has its advantages now and then ......Hi Guys
Just a bit of anorak info for you from a Mustang nerd!
The Marti Report that came withthe car will only add value if you stick to the original factory spec. Mario spoke about the car having a 351cu in engine when they bought it and they ended up putting in a 302 cu.in. The Grabber Blue Colour was not offered by Ford until the 1970 model and the ‘restored car was a 1969 model. Bosses only came in Fastback format as they were built to homologate the Mustang for Trans Am racing. I never saw Parnelli Jones racing a convertible and waving to the crowds as he went by. So they had the wrong engine the wrong colour and the wrong decals. If they bring the car back to the UK they will have to add shipping. Import duty and Vat (reduced rate) to the restoration cost.

I'm no Mustang expert, but I was thinking the same - never seen a Boss convertible. They don't actually restore the cars, because they're never put back to original spec. They tart them up, in effect it's a minor customisation.Just a bit of anorak info for you from a Mustang nerd!

I said in an earlier post that if the car was indeed unique (the options tick list) then they were reducing the value by not sticking with that spec. There WILL be more episodes in Canada, to be sure, cos mario's from there, and they have a second crew there etc etc. Aimed at a dual nationality audience IMO. I wonder if the Canucks watching it will also froth at the mouth like us?
I must be mellowing with age, but this latest episode was "better" than previous ones.
I know they faked a lot of it but they really did do some proper welding on those floor pans.
The budget was 5 times that of the MG, so with the "professional" help," people who knew what they were doing", that they did not have at
Bodge it N Bash it Bros in this country. As for the special effects team, that dry ice/ smoke effect was very good.
Editted to add more irony!

I don't know about you lot, but it's great family viewing for me and my 7 year old. Apart from the occasional naughty word, which the boy frowns upon, we both think its so bad, it's brilliant. Even he said to me on Monday night "daddy, they are all acting" and "I wouldn't want to win that car". Can't wait for the next episode!
I thought they did a better job of this one than the previous efforts, although that's not exactly a glowing appraisal. At least they showed the welding and the engine dis-assembly this time.
The Boss clone touches weren't a great idea, the paint job was totally orange peel and those panel gaps were pitiful (again, at least they showed them).
Windscreen dropping couldn't have been more fake if they'd done it in slow-mo...

They're fond of the F word - filler!I'd love the programme makers to see this thread.

However, if my winning streak continues and I hit the jackpot tonight I'll ask Bernie and Mario if they can restore this to concourse for me;
Should keep them off the telly for a bit...
P.S. Cheers to Pat H for the pic!

Have you not heard. The biggest expense is labour so that'd be completed in 3 weeks. Personally I wouldn't want to drive it after but ....Should keep them off the telly for a bit...
