Scottish regiment. Aparently it was a way to catch Haggis when they flew during the mating season, but more traditional ways of Haggis hunting proved more succesful 2172cc said:
Car check on FB 17 doesn't come up with anything. Odd, because the Lancia was extremely valuable even then... and the plate was worth good money even in the 70s (and probably had family links). Possible the plate is on retention.. issued by Bath in 1903.soxboy said:
Looks like a local agricultural show on the stand of the local Fiat/ Alfa dealers. 127 Palio and 131 Mirafiori/ Supermirafiori behind, with Alfa brochure stand in background too.
My cousin had a Palio which IIRC was W-reg (1980), later parked up a tree.
It wasn't an agricultural show but an Italian gathering at Shenley. All sorts going on including a tug of war I remember where macho Italians with a few glasses of vino on board would try and show off... and fail.My cousin had a Palio which IIRC was W-reg (1980), later parked up a tree.
Also in the bunch of pictures I took was this 131 Abarth.

Despite being loved at the time, only OGS 786 definitely made it through. Was taxed until 1/6/2020, I assume now laid up. Wierdly the record says 'first registered 2001' but I guess that means it was found as a wreck and the new owner persuaded DVLA to allocate the original plate. No record of any of the others other than the plate 2 GPJ, now on a Ford.2172cc said:

https://car-from-uk.com/sale.php?id=248401&cou...Such a shame that an original Stradale has been converted to a Grp.4 car, as its devalued it by about 30-50%, as so few Stradale left.
Like all the 70's homologation specials, they were pretty crap as road cars, (the 131 Abarth Stradale, was notorious for having incredibly uncomfortable seats)....but, its still one of the ones that has that 'most want' factor for me.

My dad with his new 1600 131 Mirafiori in 1978. First car I ever drove at 14 years old when he taught me drive in it
My 2nd car was a 2nd hand 1600 Mirafiori 131, purchased in '79, a year or so later I part exchanged it for a Dolly Sprint. In the same period, Dad was driving a 132 2 litre, he purchased new and it stayed in the family for about ten years before being written off by an un-insured driver, hitting it from behind.
I will see if I can dig out some pictures of my 131.

132 always looked cool, too, with the "cloverleaf" alloys at least, and that BMW-like reverse slope front. And the perspex sun visors...
