Apologises for posting in the wrong thread but as It’s neither “ Spotted” nor “Period” I couldn’t find a suitable place for it but felt some people might appreciate it

Blimey. I wouldn't fancy driving that combo up Hardknott Pass.

This is a new one for me, BMC 1100/1300 convertible, when I first saw it I assumd it was a one off home conversation but it turns out it was built by Crayfords

For those who are interested there’s more information here.

I saw two ADO16s out in the wild today, quite imoressed given the crappy weather.

Crayford had a long history of plonking frame tents onto unsuspecting family wagons, but the one I liked was the Cavalier Mk1 driven to school by the attractive daughter of the Crayford enterprise.

Maybe it was just the driver I was admiring...

They usually looked ok top down, but quite the opposite top up. The ADO is undoubtedly pretty top down, much like the Peugeot 204 cabriolet.

I don't think there would be too much risk of rapid acceleration!

Missing the towbar now though laugh

KR was a Maidstone issued reg number, so that ties with the Rochester Motor Co dealership.
The picture is from April 1972 when the car was their new demonstrator. IT completed the Caravan club road rally. For 2022 it had a towbar and towed a Thomson Miniglen again.

Motoring trip to the Alps, early 1950's. My wife's uncle + his pal taking the photo.
Any thoughts on the vehicle?

What's the newest car we can see, the Escort estate? So 1968 onwards?

Dating Clues:-
--No central barrier - so pre 1974 for sure.

I'd go for 1969.

No Mk3 Cortina's, or Marina, Maxi etc., so summer of '69 is my guess.

Oh, when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Yeah, I'd always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life

Do you not think you should at the very least credit the photographer, who explicitly asks people not to steal his images ?
