Awesome.
The master Cockney negotiator had his arse handed to him for the Caddy back bumper. It was like watching a bully stepping on a thumbtac. Awesome.
I have only watched the first episode (the E Type), have made a point of not watching any others (my dad has though, bless him!).
Anyway, I thought the best thing in the world was; "I'm the best negotiator ever, can sell sand to the egyptians, I can sell snow to eskimos, I'll get whatever I want and pay whatever I want for it".
Goes to seller of car up for (I think) £15k. "I'll give you £9k". No. Ok £10k? No. £11k? Last offer. No.
Oh, by then.
He even paid more than he wanted for the one he bought, too

You do realise it was staged don't you ?For the record the WWE/TNA whatever it's called these days and Premiership aren't rigged either.

It's a Mini next week.
They'll fit new sub-frames without aligning them, and a clubman front which they'll claim will increase the value. Oh, and 1275GT side stripes on a mayfair.Actually this week I think they will have the shell chemically dipped, all the panels replaced with OEM old stock, etch prime the lot and finish it with at least 6 coats of two pack and lots of elbow grease.
They will bore out the engine to 1390cc, fit stage 2 Kent cams, lighten and balance the engine, fit twin 1 1/2" SU's and then set the whole thing up on a rolling road. All suspension and brakes will be modded appropriately for the power hike.
They will source genuine 13" Minilites and Cibie spots from the 60's .........
What sorry, must been day dreaming there. Anyway back to reality... What's wrong with fitting a subframe without aligning it? It still works... kind of.
In my defence m'lud I was only 18 at the time and thought I knew better than my dad's mate who had been running his own garage for 20 years.
As I say: Employ a teenager, whilst they still know everything.

Those serious sort of problems which can only be seen in a workshop. Not with a torch, in daylight, in a barn with lots of room around the car. They must have used one of those new 3d x-ray machines, vehicle endoscope and maybe an electron microscope to see that original car had major rust issues.

If going to the n'th degree, but surely anyone with anything between the two ears only had to look at the state of the shell when it was pushed out of the barn to know that it was so far gone it could only be a spares car and never be repaired. And is that right - a new MG chassis for £1,000? Not sure what he is referring to in that letter but a new shell is over £8,000 and a front chassis frame £500.lowdrag said:

They cut the floor and roof from one car and welded it to the other. Without a jig or SVA/IVA test. I pity the competition winner because I'd give the car six months before it folds in half on it's own let alone if it's involved in a collision.
of course they didnt , they just used a completely different car that wasnt rotten..hedgefinder said:
