Fancy doing 240mph down the Mulsanne in that?

Certainly not until Porsche sorted the awful aerodynamic stability of early low-drag 917s yikes
I may be wrong, but wasn't it John Wyer's team that sorted the handling, not Porsche themselves?
Yes, there's even a picture of the lashed-up bodywork that they used to demonstrate that the aerodynamics were the key:

I've posted some of these 917 pictures from the Porsche temporary workshop at Teloche during the LeMans prep before, but work another look I think.
It must have been amazing to have been there to see all these cars and take those pictures. You have a very valuable copyrighted archive.
These have nothing to do with me! I was aware of the Porsche team taking over a garage in Telouche and simply Googled my way to those pictures. There are some absolutely stunning images if you hunt around - look here https://porschecarshistory.com/teloche-porsche-tea...

These sights will never be seen again!! 2020 vs 1975

Like the 'old man' in his big trousers and stern authoritarian appearance. He's probably all of 45...

I'd say BMW 700 Coupe in the bottom of the ravine.

Alfa 1900 on top if it.

No clue on the largest one - No 60.

I was thinking some sort of big Fiat or Lancia but the wheel arch shape doesn't match.

It's got 3 stud wheels which were very French and the truck looks like it's LHD (left hand door open) so my guess is a Simca P60 (rear wheel arch shape and skinny C pilalr)

Yes, yes! Even the script on the rear wing matches.

Thanks Dapster. Quite stylish for its size and a darned sight more attractive than most of Luton's output wink

Yeah, would have been there with my dad too. Think that was the year he thought about something a bit sporty, he really liked a silver 1602 BMW we all sat in. I willed him to get it, but he went on to get a GS estate.

The days of coming home with carrier bags stuffed with brochures, badges, stickers and all sorts. hehe

Smashing isn't it? I've just noticed that the silver 1275GT looks like it's on 12'' Denovo wheels.
