235s seem more common these days.
I'm having some issues getting my ali tailgate to stay shut. One side will but the other keeps coming undone. Not quite sure what to do but the old, and rusty, steel one always stayed shut.
Mine once it is shut stays shut but it does take some shutting on the one side. Always worried about slamming it too hard. Really must get around to cleaning and lubing the mechanism.I'm having some issues getting my ali tailgate to stay shut. One side will but the other keeps coming undone. Not a fan of adding rubber to cars. It fills the steering, reduces mpg and on Rangies removes off-road capabilities. I had 255s on my Overfinch and at that width they bugger the turning circle also. I ran it for a while with a set of standard 205s and I didn't have any traction issues and it handled better.
I'd say I'd only chose 225s over 205s if it was a much better quality tyre for less money as they don't bring anything tangible to the party otherwise.

Ideal environment for a Rangie. RR was a real game changer when it appeared in 1970. and the Classic design has become timeless.
Both sunroofs tilted open, do you have misting issues?
No misting issues, just like a bit of fresh air, I think the old man is the same Both sunroofs tilted open, do you have misting issues?

Is the fan on?
Something electrical under the seat?
Not the fan, it sounds like air escaping and it's coming from somewhere around the upper passenger footwell.Something electrical under the seat?
Other than the aircon unit I can't think of anything that's in the passenger footwell. Any noise I've ever had from there has been the fluttering noise of the rear bolt on the exhaust manifold needing a turn as gasses are leaking. Used to happen on my Griff also.

Sad day. Lovely looking car. Will be interesting to see what the Hunt Tax is!
He sold my Overfinch for me. The important thing about the tax is that it is less than the Govt ask for, it's more enjoyable to pay and I suspect it is spent more wisely.
It's a perfect car for GH as it is an ideal toy to have in Town and use as a fun family bus to all the summer social events. It's £30k to have a wagon that you can park next to anything anyone else will turn up with and hold its own.
It's a cracking car and as a bit of history it is the model that kicked off the whole premium SUV market and there were only a few hundred of them made and almost all are gone. I'd love to keep it but I have to whittle the number of cars down this year.

Hi DA, does that mean that the big 2dr build is about to get underway ?
Hi Paul. I think so . It's been long enough but the children are just about old enough that a 2 door isn't going to be a huge inconvenience. I still have a niggling doubt that I'll regret parting with my current 4 door as it is a superb example. task said:
Looks like a lovely example, I really should get my finger out and sort my own 2 door In Vogue, best of luck with the sale!
Thanks. I have some In Vogue stuff left over such as door capping sets and hamper straps that I'll be sticking up on EBay as I had a few sets made as they're hens teeth. squirdan said:
i wont get excited until I see the car in the flesh but there are hints that the condition is good
its not uncommon to see the boot floor and inner rear wings & arches completely rotten
but this looks decent
carpets and leather is an unbelievably quick and tidy job. It once took me 3 months to get Southbound to answer an email about basketweave 911 vinyl... this has been turned around inside 1 week. Hard to be sure on the exact shade but its beige / palomini esque and good enough for me. Should look very good with a classic colour
car ships on Friday, probably should have it end of July, after that off for restomod
That's looking good. I like the fact they've colour matched the new carpet with the exact colour that the original bronze carpet goes after 20 years in the African sun. its not uncommon to see the boot floor and inner rear wings & arches completely rotten

Container loaded at Jo'burg, delivered to you for unloading is £3,500 (give or take USD/GBP fluctuations) and will take 2 Rangies.
Solid Rangies can be sourced in SA for less than £1,000 as old cars are for peasants and no one wants them locally.
Using SA labour to retrim is a smart idea as a basic retrim in the UK using best match materials is just over £2k and nearly all of that is labour.
I think that if it's done properly then most would be willing to pay quite an amount on top to get a solid car all ready to drive away.

That's what I concluded, good to hear
It's not the exact colour but it will look good with Tuscan blue
Do make sure they sling a whole load of carpet and seat material in the boot for you. Some decent sections and a load of off its. It'll cost bugger all and mean that if you find any bits of work you don't like you can have them redone here. Or if you damage anything you can fix it. It's not the exact colour but it will look good with Tuscan blue

£15k..restoration project
or £32k for the one at Graeme Hunt thats referred to earlier in this thread and is immaculate
I like a project but still, I doubt you could get this done for £17k could you?
The one at Graeme's is mine. When that one cropped up on EBay I was somewhat flabbergasted. It's a wreck!http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PROJECT-FOR-SALE-1981-RA...
