I know XJ6s had them, but the twin tanks / fuel fillers was also a bit of a novelty in the day.
Had to laugh when filing up at a service station, after filling up one of the tanks, and then walking round to fill up the second tank, getting adverse comments from ignorant nonces waiting behind, that I was (and I quote) taking the p*ss, and taking `all' the fuel FFS!.

Great thread revival! I had a 72 twin cam from 2006 to 2012, sadly had to sell it when I struggled getting in and out due to arthritis and it finished up in Australia. It was maroon when I bought it with scruffy bodywork. The owner had refurbished the wheels in gold so I had it repainted in gold leaf livery. It looked great and had oatmeal trim so the cockpit didn’t seem claustrophobic like the black ones do (to me anyway)
We did a lot of miles in it including 3 trips to Classic Le Mans. It was always a talking point at motoring events. I’ve had 3 Classic Elans over the years which were brilliant but the Europa handled the best, it always seemed unstickable. Front end was a bit light, we used to drive around with a bag of sand in the front.

The front of the Europa needs a splitter when driving fast, that way the (double high) air that want to go under the car, presses on the splitter and then goes also sideways, so it press the front more downwards.We did a lot of miles in it including 3 trips to Classic Le Mans. Also a better placed radiator and a guided air hood outlet can help a lot, that way air that goes through the radiator via the guided air outlet, also press the car a bit down, all bits help.
