what car is this then?
Discussion
I missed this thread first time around and have just read it end to end. What a ride! In the early pages I didn't Double Dare the car would be identified. LotusOmega well done for being the Spy (in the cab) and Pete Murphy, sorry you got heat for it, that must have been a Kick In The Eye. Sad to see the car continues to deteriorate and sink Into The Flat Field.

I remember this thread well. What I don't remember is Pete Murphy's MiL involvement. Anyone able to give me me a catch up please?
I've just re-read the entire thread an I can't for the life of me see what the problem was, the owner sounds like a nice old chap keen to chat about cars. Pete, in a nutshell, what was your mother-in-law's issue? RichB said:

the other way of seeing it is elderly people invite village friends and family round and son in law who they dont like anyway takes photo without permission and sticks it on the net and suddenly old people have random people coming round asking about their private car. must have been a bit unnerving as all kinds of people could have turned up and they dont know whats been put on the public internet. village friends angry with mother in law. parents in law angry with me. i didnt post the address but i can see how it looked like that to them. I innocently only wondered what the car was.i havent been back to mother in laws house since.
so not all bad..
but if we could all not go back there then it would be appreciated!

I barked with laughter at the "so not all bad.." line.
All MILs are pre-programmed to have the hump with the SIL at some point - at least you know the reason why. My missus has already taken a dislike to our daughter's husband to be and she's only 8!
What a brilliant story and a great, all time classic read. LotusOmega - you freekin star.

I only found out after the old hen karked it that she too thought I wasnt good enough for her precious daughter.
Rather ironic when I had dragged her out of some dead-end yakker pit village where a trip to pizza hut was a posh meal (it was only 6 years after the miners strike admittedly).
And I thought she liked me...
To the OP, just wait for the inheritance and roll around in the cash on the living room floor. Shouldn't be long, the old harridan.
In the meantime we are indebted to you for highlighting and identifying something that in 2064 could have been like the blue "mystery car" on another page...

Can we see the engine photos, rear view, interior etc? It doesn't give anything more away about location etc. Please?

I didn't keep the engine ones as they didn't interest me.
