I was born in 1959 and brought home from hospital in my Dad's 1954 Austin A40 Somerset.

The 70 mph limit didn't really make any difference to him - the fastest speed we ever saw in it was 75 (probably on the M1)!

I remember that; big treat to be taken to the Scottish Motor Show at the Kelvin Hall by my dad and then driving through the city centre to gawp at the lights. Although thinking about it, the motor show traditionally used to take place in mid-November, would the lights would have been up by then back in those days?

It used to stop overnight near my gran's house. Nobody could get near as it was behind a high wire, lots of trees, brambles and nettles.

That Rover SD1 was first registered September 1985, and the Jaguar dates from October 1985, so it must be later than that. [/anorak]

The Elan is registered ALH 662H. DVLA says on SORN, although not MoTed since at least 2005/06. The ALH plate was vaguely familiar to me, turns out I saw ALH 660H in Norfolk back in 2007:

XT353 looks like an Austin 12 Clifton, but something isn't quite right. It's circa 1922/23 I reckon.

Dutch ferry in 1962. Seems a very high number of older cars, so maybe a club outing or rally.
