Looks like there has been a fire in situ.
The Eclat and Spitfire Mk3 – which both looked saveable in the 'previous' pic – have both burned out. frown

Seems like we're looking at the good side!

Has that been pulled out of a lake or from beneath someone's garden?

Is it left hand drive?

From what I remember there are (or were) 4 or 5 Eclat/Excels in there. You get a good view from the railway viaduct.

I might drop down there this week and see if I can get some pictures of what's at the back

its very rusty indeed, although the front nose/bumper and light surroundings are from rubber/plastic, those can be saved at least :-)

and yes, it looks like a LHD, what a waste for a RS2000 mk2

I’m intrigued as to how it got into quite such a bad state even for a Mk ll Escort. I’m guessing it was maybe stored for years under a tarp in the open and then casually nudged in the rear quarter by a reversing truck smile

Maybe some over enthusiastic Ari Vatenan style "watch this" exuberance put the dent in the wing 30 years ago, and it was parked in the corner of a field with the age old promise of "I'll get around to fixing that..." and here we are. Looks like it was left to the elements. Not much evidence of a nice dry barn or even a tarp.

Could well be right. It was the state of the roof that made me think it might have been stored under a (leaky) tarp. Years ago a neighbour had a Mk l Fiesta that languished in the open in his garden for over 20 years and it didn’t really rot much, certainly not like this Mk ll biggrin

Having my car serviced today - spotted these going nowhere next to the unit behind where we were.

Saw these in Kington Herefordshire on Monday. Couldn’t capture properly but at least 3 Defenders and other cars under brambles opposite a row of cottages.
