I put this on the 'spotted' thread yesterday. Found in a hedge in deepest France, what seems to be a Triumph 2000/2500. I think it might have been a 2000 because I couldn't see any sign of fire damage...

Saw one of these at Knockhill race circuit yesterday, a 2500 TC saloon, a very enthusiastic owner (spectator) spent much time telling us about it's history. It was very original apart from having a had Dolomite dash put in it, the car had very little rust.

That's also had a new, later body shell......wonder if that's been declared?
Indeed, I don't really understand. I thought the registration may have been private or transfered until the check, wasn't expecting the 1966 or the 1988 in there..
I am no expert on Minis but isn't that an Innocenti shell/doors with opening front quarterlights?

Certainly Innocenti style quarterlights, the only Minis to have them as far as I know. Not sure the shell was any different though.

I think the boot lid had a different number plate recess, but external door hinges didn't go until about '68 I think.

Presumably a square recess to suit the large square Italian rear plate.

Pic above if an Innocenti, has a British bootlid fitted....smile

Not a classic at all, but this volvo has been parked in the same spot for years and years...

Buutttt. It obviously runs as recently it was turned around (I'll get a pic later)
The Lorries are all gone and the site cleared last time I went past.
The Volvo is still there!

The one pictured is the standard Mk1 Mini bootlid with the hinged number plate.

Australian Minis had quarterlights too, although the door handles were distinctly different.

1975 PORSCHE CARRERA 3.0 by shagracer, on Flickr

last taxed end of 1999 !
3.0 litre Carrera, quite a rare model, well worthy of saving.
Why do those that have said save it say that ? Hasn't the owner already saved it even if it has not been used for years ? does it look that bad that its only now fit for scrap ?

For those interested, all the pics from the Italian garage I took last year were posted here on August 18th.

There's also a genuine Innocenti mini rear shot.

Took me ages to find them.....biggrin

It's covered in muck, it's amongst a load of rubbish not covered and obviously not moved for ages, I'd say the current owner has given up on it? When I said worthy of saving I meant recommissioning and putting back on the road to use.

his old place that burned out was just up the road from my flat at the time, I did a thread on it I think, fire was at least 7 years ago, he's still running it like that
This is his RR
