Not a classic I know, but can't remember the last time I saw one.

Near Crewe this morning.

Only a 216i unfortunately. I remember seeing a blue 220 turbo a few years back. Still an ace looking car.

For fans of American iron. A well cared for Chev Bel Air - maybe 1960?

Yep, a 1960 4-door with aftermarket slot mags and, interestingly, RHD. Looks nice.

That's funny - I saw a 220 turbo version in the exact same colour just a couple of days ago outside a tyre fitters and thought to Myself: "Bloody Hell, when was the last time you ever saw one of those?"

I have to confess, for some reason I have always liked them smile
(It's one of those "guilty pleasure" things that others don't understand!)

That's a late model post facelift Rover "Coupe", as opposed to the pre-facelift Rover "200" Coupe. The facelift came as the 216i or the range topper 218i with the VVC K series engine. The 220 Turbo Coupe was the pre facelift range topper replaced by the 218. The 218 was a very nice car, with that super sweet K series. The 220 was a total handful and the steering wheel was but a bit part player in controlling the direction of travel on even a slightly damp and uneven road!

The car above with the "XOC" reg could have been a Rover management vehicle back in the day - the sequence seems familiar. I had a brief stint at Rover Group back in the late 90's.

Indeed - as said that's Jude Law's SL and the other Merc and Mustang are next to George Michael's old gaff. His Range Rover is still outside. I understand Chris Martin is a few doors further down.

There were a few built in RHD. At least one was sold new in Ireland, and became part of the motor pool of Coras Iompair Eireann (CIE - the state transport company) where, in turn, it was used by the Chief Mechanical Engineer of the time: Oliver Bulleid.

Kate Moss also lives in one of those houses. Think Jamie Oliver has moved in too recently. I used to drink in the pub on the opposite side of that road before I moved to the sticks. Amazing who you would see in there sometimes. Always some interesting cars around.

The Flask - know it well. Past drinkers said to include Dick Turpin and Karl Marx!

Nice!

But I do prefer the more flamboyant lines of the 1959 version!

A few I should have put up...

Quite rare in Toronto!

Quite rare anywhere...VW Puma

I think this is a 1940 Buick special sedan, still being driven around Toronto

Thought I could keep up with this in my Golf, i was wrong, it still had plenty of go.

Me and the missus went to the Flask a few years ago, made the massive faux pas of asking the waiter if they get celebs here- his face turned white and said "we don't discuss that here"

I’d never have imagined OVS, with all his crazy chain-driven peat-burning eccentricity, driving any kind of car at all.

They don't make cars like they used to,
I wish we still had it today,
The love we first tasted, the good love we're still livin',
We owe it to that old '57 Chevrolet....

Remember this song? http://youtu.be/subNOl2wWCc

More likely he was given a driver by CIE, rather than drive the Chevy himself.

Following on from the posts on Chevette/Kadett, here's one spotted in Brighton this morning. Looks like its cover is being blown off; fair bit of rust on the roof!
