I've always fancied a DS420...

The Viper - if it's a Granada based replica they've clearly changed the wheel hubs for the proper six-bolt type...

Can't understand why anyone would go to the expense and trouble of building a replica with such attention to detail (6 stud hubs/wheels) then leave it in that state? There has to be a story behind it?

Quite staggered by this one myself but it's been sat here for months looking completely un loved. I presume it's taxed or it would have been towed. The tyres are now flat.
That's so awesome. What a shame.

Re Dave G's ratty MK1 Escort...

Do I remember rightly that the colour is (was) Blue Mink which was afflicted with a faulty primer meaning that all the survivors ended up looking like that. Silver Fox was almost as bad.

Was any action taken against Ford for this disgrace? Do you recall whether any repaints were done under warranty?

Many Ford Corsair 2000E models (top of the range) were affected.

Not aware of any action Mike, but I believe that owners who shouted loudly enough were treated to a respray from the main dealer. AIRC there was a new generation of metallics Blue Mink, Silver Fox, Saluki Bronze and Aquatic Jade. Only the first 2 seemed to be affected and the colour went flat after a matter of months and then appeared to 'wash off' leaving a red primer exposed.

MK2 Cortinas, MK1 Capri, early Escorts and as you say, the Corsair all suffered with it.

Today there would be a public scandal but owners seemed to take it in their stride and it was common knowledge 'in the trade' that the affected cars were worth substantially less than the other colours!

Different attitude back then ,owners not straight down the dealer threatening to sue them or Ford

for compensation.

"I want a new car" or else !.

I can confirm that loon drives around in a burnt Rolls Royce

his old place that burned out was just up the road from my flat at the time, I did a thread on it I think, fire was at least 7 years ago, he's still running it like that
This is his RR

Is that a roof mounted wiper? Most odd.
