Saw a rather odd thing earlier , a S3 E type convertible with no windscreen , it had A pillars but no glass and no aeroscreens
then later saw within seconds of each other at a junction, a big old 60s/70s Bentley , a Ur Quattro and a Capri MK3.
The Quattro driver gave a knowing look to the Capri as it passed , they were all heading in different directions ,then I saw
a Triumph 2500 estate .

Possibly my favourite car shape - a 308/328 would definitely be in any PB Collection.
Pre- 88.5 328 GTS in Argento silver, with US-spec door mirrors.And Ashton Court in the 80s/90s - remember it well as I used to cycle through there a lot - always a few using it as a test track!
Anyway, to take your mind off those halcyon days, have a very tidy 328 GTS…

The US spec flag / elephant ear door mirrors relegate it from being: "very tidy", to just: "tidy" - They do a slightly better job than Euro mirrors when it comes to seeing behind you, but they look bl00dy awful!

I remember a contemporary road test of the F40 when they first came to the UK. The journo said that you couldn't see anything over your right shoulder when joining a motorway slip road due to being clamped into the seat with the harness, sitting on the left and having crap mirrors. The solution was to slow down to about 30 in second, floor it and keep in pinned, then just join the motorway after a few seconds knowing that you are in the most accelerative car on the road!To quote Franco from the movie: 'The Gumball Rally' :

That 328 is lovely though. I think the last of the line 308 with the front spoiler is prettier with the more delicate bumpers. Harry Metcalf's old rhd Vetroresina is up at Silverstone this weekend guided at between £125 - £140k

I passed a delightfully English summer tableau yesterday, driving through Iwerne Minster. Some kind of huge and lovely early ‘60s yankee, stopped to allow a quarter-scale traction engine to turn right into a pub car park, while behind it a Caterham did a three-pointer. Sadly no pics.
