That link is very intriguing! WGU 18G is now SORN’d …
Sorned by the owner, who has a long record of yanking chains.

Jaguar X Type Estate, which actually looked in pretty decent shape, apart from the semi-flat tyres.

Best thing to do with that is push it backwards into the undergrowth.
I had one, went OK but the most uncomfortable seats ever, gold medal for rot, rear area not huge, was pleased to get rid of mine and buy another Volvo 940 Estate!

Now this is a rare thing … I spotted it the other week and got a pic today. 1982 Saab, MoT expired in Sept 2019. Maybe it should be in the cool classics thread, but the lack of MoT got it in this thread. It had one MoT in the last few years by the looks of it so was maybe off the road stored for a long time.

That is nice. I’m tempted to ask where it is. My first car was a 99. Later I had a 99 Turbo I should never have got rid of.

Slightly off topic, but I had an X-type 2.2d 08-reg saloon which Mrs L & I found very comfortable, no rust (and never garaged), put 86k miles on it and found it a very satisfactory main car.

This is Google Earth in Melton Mowbray … and although the Jags and US cop car are still there being eaten by the undergrowth, there are a couple more additions since this pic as I drove by the location last week. No idea what is under the car cover.

Looks very much like a 1982 Plymouth Grand Fury Police Car i used to own about 15yrs ago when i had a classic car sales business- we took it as part exchange for a Vanden Plas 3 litre - ran it for a few months and did some weddings with it and then sold to a guy who owned a General Lee and wanted the police car to tag along to shows.

The car was originally a New York patrol car so had a very lethargic straight 6 in it at the time

edit - just noticed the light bar is blue/red rather than blue/blue and the bumper is slightly different so probably not the car i had previously

I pass this every couple of weeks, no idea what it is, but it looks interesting. I'll get a better photo some day, this is a screenshot from Google Maps.

Good work!

Looks correct to me. Tail lights are right, tapering upwards from the bottom edge. Boot lock button. too.

Agreed. A friend/colleague of mine has an amazing one of these. Lived in a Belgian dealership, 14,000 km from new, not a nut or bolt disturbed!

Excellent cars. Since 4.5 years I own a 3 litre Estate with all te bells and whistles. I would not have kept it if it was a dog. Very comfortable seats, only yesterday had an appointment and drove 250 miles. Very good sound system standard as well. I use it as a bad weather car, to move old car parts, to get building supplies, to tow trailers filled with rubbish and classic cars. Maybe not suitable if you need a car for work-home travel as it is not very frugal. But I like it. Fast, elec heated front windows front and rear, elec seats, park distance controls front and rear, reasonably weather proof - I had to de-rust the sills, a common rust pojnt on these cars. I keep it on the street, no garage needed for this "modern" car (mine is from 2004 but no rust outside and inside almost as new).

Can't remember if I ever posted this. I was sniffing around the area where a house was for sale that we were interested in...

Is that the front three-quarters of a BMW 8 series? Where’s the rest of it?

It's a complete 8 Series. I think it's just the crappy image that makes the rear end look odd.

I recognised that straight away from the Rugby Club - I used to live a few minutes walk from there up at the top of the hill.

I drove past on the main road yesterday, wish I’d known that was there as would have made a slight detour.

I think posted a year or more ago. Somewhere in Wales iirc. Corrado, Jag and an 8 series. I can't name the two door (?) saloon behind though.

It's all God-forsaken savage wilderness up there as far as southerners are concerned, regardless of country.
