Can't remember if I ever posted this. I was sniffing around the area where a house was for sale that we were interested in...

I recognised that straight away from the Rugby Club - I used to live a few minutes walk from there up at the top of the hill.
I think posted a year or more ago. Somewhere in Wales iirc. Corrado, Jag and an 8 series. I can't name the two door (?) saloon behind though.
Nowhere near Wales - West Yorkshire.
It appears i didn't rc. Ah well.

Is the 2-door a BMW 1602? Looking at the indicator at the front of the front wing, and the “kick” at the bottom of the back of the back window.

It's an '02 of some kind - I suspect a late 2002 - I've looked at a few angles and I 'think' it's a late car. The moss and mildew on the far side of the 8 series suggest an extended period of neglect and the pictures are dated from 2009.

Edit to update; A pic from the lower main road from 2018 shows a 'SOLD' sign in the lower garden so I suspect all the cars and gone and perhaps scrapped by now, confirmed by the fact the house is now for sale again with none of those cars to be seen.

Didn’t the 2002 have a chrome trim strip along the crease line? Mine did. The cheapo 1502 “Sparmodell” didn’t have this, so that’s my guess for this one in square rear light late model form.

Jaguar X Type Estate, which actually looked in pretty decent shape, apart from the semi-flat tyres.

Best thing to do with that is push it backwards into the undergrowth.
I had one, went OK but the most uncomfortable seats ever, gold medal for rot, rear area not huge, was pleased to get rid of mine and buy another Volvo 940 Estate!
Slightly off topic, but I had an X-type 2.2d 08-reg saloon which Mrs L & I found very comfortable, no rust (and never garaged), put 86k miles on it and found it a very satisfactory main car.
I had two X-Type both 2.0 V6 paid £900 for one and did 70k miles in 4 years with very little issues, fixed the sills and the fuel pump which was swapped out for a modded pump from a Ford KA costing £450 less than the genuine Jag one, not much else went wrong and I sold it for for £650. Cheap motoring in a comfortable 2003 car with climate control, leather and electric seats etc.

Driving along this morning along a country lane I had to stop due to a lorry trying to reverse a trailer into a gateway. As I Sat there I looked to my left and saw the following:

Apparently this place is an operating garage.

Bonus points for anybody that can identify what I'm driving at the time

Is the Mk1 Fiesta filthy white or the surprisingly survivable Coral Beige? I had a 1.3GL in that colour…

Yip good spot, it’s a 1502 so will be a 76,77 detuned 1600 engine

2 minutes.... what took you so long? ;-)

Correct. Well done.

I think the Fiesta is just very dirty white.

I could have geeked out on the MINI in the photo alone.

1st Gen Facelift >June 2004 Mini with Anthracite Head Lining. Aftermarket chrome on the dash vents, and possibly door handle surrounds, and still running its factory windscreen which you can tell by the square sticker in the top left corner.

Nice work. I'm not sure whether to be impressed or concerned for your mental well-being!

Maybe approach the Car Park owners. Surely they must be able to begin legal proceedings to seize the vehicle in order to recover parking costs, they may already have the wheels in motion. If they know they have an interested party in the wings they might be inclined to do so. However, it's bound to be a lot of hassle for a car that's not worth much.
They are starting to creep up in price now, mainly due to rarity and due to the fact that most of the knackered ones have gone, leaving decent examples. There is probably something wrong with that if it's been abandoned, but it all depends what that is and what the general condition is like.

The Plus & LE models are of course worth than the standard one.

Parking on private land in Scotland is an unknown quantity right now. If the landowner or their representatives were caught trying to move that car they would likely be charged with criminal damage.

There's been a half-hearted attempt to introduce registered keeper liability of late but no one seems to be taking it seriously.

Prior to that legislation, this young lady didn't fare so well however...

Difficult to tell from the photo... It could be a convertible R52... If not it's either an R50 One/Cooper or an R53 Cooper S.
