Nope afraid not although I never knew that bit of info Eliza and Mary Chulkhurst (The Biddenden Maids) were born in 1100 and conjoined twins I loved this little village
I didn't know that - so quite a coincidence. I assume Eliza and Mary were immediately burnt at the stake?Herne Bay, 1978. Saloon and hatchback Chevettes behind must have been reasonably new.
Camber Sands, 1979. Trying to work out the red car at the back, Avenger?
Another one of the A10 I posted earlier from 1980, dads mini behind. Bloke he sold it to still owes £25 on it and even to this day dodges him when he sees him in town!!
A few from a trials event at Barham nr Canterbury 1963.
Amazed to see the AJS in the first picture is still about!!
Event was put on by Arters who had the garage on the A2 and were AMC motorcycle dealers. Garage is still there on the old stretch of A2!
No more trials though, the crematorium and golf course wouldn't stand for it!

Waiting in the queue for the Chunnel to holiday in France
I remember going on that quite soon after it opened. Was great, even though it is basically loitering around your car like you are waiting for someone who is late for half an hour. What I thought was funny was the amount of booze some people were filling their cars with. I was only young so my Dad had filled both back footwells with wine cases along with most of the car. The speed humps all had huge scratches on them from all the cars that were beyond overloaded. Maybe archaeologists will one day use this of evidence of how much the 20c Brits loved cheap French booze.A nice "Derby" Bentley amongst the stock (extreme left) - I wish one could see the reg number.
Also, you got to love the Bill Posters, innocent or otherwise [ref the well-known joke ]
Double stamps here:- [before you ask, the white roofed car is a DKW, I believe]

... I went to see Dylan and Clapton at Blackbushe in '78. What a summer.
I also went to that one. I seem to remember parking up on the side of the A30 somewhere and walking the last couple of miles to the field. It was a good gig wasn't it. We drove, as a group of around 10, from North Devon to get to Blackbushe and then found, to our horror, that we had been sold forged tickets. We were rounded up with other holders of forged tickets into a holding pen where some bloke came along and said he'd decided that we could get in (for free) as we were clearly genuine fans. That bloke turned out to be Harvey Goldsmith.
Fast forward to a couple of years ago, and I sat next to Harvey Goldsmith at a dinner..... "I've been meaning to say thank you to you for 40 years....'. It was so good to spend a few hours with him and to say a genuine thank you.
