I don't think any of the works 4-door Sierra Cosworths were RHD though.....?
I think a couple of the national championship cars were (e.g. Russell Brookes?), but for sure all the works team cars were LHD. Is there a registration number for this one?
Yeah, Brookes always preferred to drive RHD cars, all his Escorts, Sunbeam-Lotus and Shoveits were RHD (not sure about his Manta 400's though?)
But I think Russell's Cossie's were Mike Little cars not Boreham cars...??

Yes for sure, of course built with proper "909" parts.

Well its an Essex reg number..........but, seems too early for an ex-works 4x4 being an E-reg.......the 4x4 road car wasn't even out then, was only the 2wd Sapphire for E-reg and the RS500's.........??

All the dark blue Q8 Sapphires had fairly generic Essex registrations, then the white/blue Carglass cars had A**FMC. I think the car shown is something else.

All the Q8 cars were G-prefix IIRC.

Can't remember what the last 91/92 cars were......but should do as I spent quite a bit of time with the Boreham crews on their last ever event on the '92 RAC.

A Bunch of Borgwards in Cheddar Gorge this morning ...

There were a couple more which I passed later.

The cockpit seems a bit too "production" - shouldn't it look more like this?

Wasn't FMC meant for Ford Motor Company?

Also, the passenger in the Sierra should keep his fingers to himself!

The passenger (friend) is a very rude man laugh

The owner of E14 FMC also owns an ex Prodrive WRC Impreza which was converted from LHD to RHD - am I correct that the likes of Bertie Fisher/Austin McHale had conversions carried out, and that may be something to do with the RHD set up of the Sierra?

PH user "AAGR" could probably shed light on the Sierra conundrum.

He knows stuff.

Germany's most underrated bosses' barge cool Borgwards are so cool. I don't think I've ever seen one of these in the flesh.

I have found some more information on the Sierra - it is a Group N version and not an ex-works car.

Sub 20 prefix E numbers were not released until after 2000 so it is not the original plate

I concur. The Isabellas are absolutely lovely.
Agreed - the others that I passed later were absolutely beautiful - one silver, one blue IIRC. I've not seen an estate before, let alone the camper - Google tells me it's a B611.

A few cars were gathering for a classic rally/tour outside my hotel in Barcelona, this lovely C Type and Speedster being two of them. I went out later to watch them set off but i’d missed it - one too many Estrella smile
