I was thinking of adding mine to this but the standard of work already on here is awesome. I only rescued a slightly rusty racing MGB,
Please accept my respect for the excellent projects completed on here.
Excellent idea for a thread as well!
Get some snaps up man!

Great thread, some amazing restro jobs here, love the WW1 truck and the Aero engine smile

Seeing as one of Richards Rally cars is on here [ great job btw ] here is mine. Originally a 1979 1600 sport, I bought the shell in march 2010 and got it running in May 2011.
Last pic was taken at the Coracle stages rally at sweet Lamb on 22nd this month, ½ shaft broke on the last stage!

Look forward to many more great pics and stories.

cheers

A very kind offer. It is now rebult and running well with a lightend flywheel,3/2/1 heatwapted manifold, ported and polished head and a new cam.The only problem was the cam bearings, sorted in the end.Block was rebored new H/C pistions, crank regrounded and head planed.

It is fitted in a 1961 Mk2 MGA.

The morning after buying and driving her home, quick wash and....

A few "bits" not as good as I would like, plus ditch those rubber bumpers.

Rebuild the bits to suit the chrome bumpers

Rather a lot of Spraying and polishing

And Eventually......

4 years work, keeping the car roadworthy to use throughout the restoration, as much as possible, uploaded an advert, just to see what the reaction would be and a chap from France offered to buy it at my asking price there and then, came over paid cash and drove my MGB home to Brittany.
I miss it badly, should I have asked more or waited until I had enjoyed it more, it really shifted, the previous owner had upgraded suspension and brakes fitted an unleaded Ivor Searle engine and had it tuned, big bore exhaust electronic ignition and used it for hillclimb competitions.
Oh well next project now in progress.
Just noticed you can see how much the bushes and trees have grown plus my rustic pagoda over the bins and the trellis,in the before and after pics, who says we cant multi task, rebuild, DIY and gardening...!

Yes I am a fan of this thread. Once I get a little further on with my current project I will post on here. TVR . . . She lives and roars, but needs TLC and a respray.

Yea ! lets be brave and get started, after acid-dip and blasting there is a bit left to work with, guess I will have to weld a bit of metal on ?

Well, well ,things are coming together, it is good when a plan starts coming together makes you feel whole or in a hole (depends on what you have spent ?)
