Not sure how these will come out...
First pic is of the Salmon Carriage Works. They were taken over and renamed Tickford upon moving to the Tickford St Aston Martin Works. My grandfather worked for Aston for over 50 years and lived on Tickford St in Newport Pagnell all his life.Photo was taken in 1906

Which location in the existing works would that be. I can't think of where, unless they demolished the rather nice looking house in the background during the AM days (which they probably did!)First pic is of the Salmon Carriage Works. E31shrew: sounds great. Any interetsing stories from your Grandather? I know me (and probably many AMOC members) would love to hear them
Right, after spending an hour or so going through some of my old man's slides, I've found a few which may be interesting in terms of this thread. He was a photographer of the views-only mentality, so any of cars (or people!) are pretty unusual. Also, most are of holidays on the west coast of Scotland, between 1978 and 1987.
Onto the good stuff:
Holiday on Skye, 1978 - that's my parent's Hillman estate with their friend's Citroen GSA. The friends had driven up from that there London.
Extension being built on the house that they still live, just outside Aberdeen. This was taken in mid 1979 and the Chevette estate is a demonstrator from SMT.
Street scene from Tobermory on Mull in mid 1981. I particularly like the RS Escort!
A wild and windy on Mull, same holiday as the Tobermory steet scene. Carlton Estate was also a demostrator, my old man worked for the Aberdeen Vauxhall main dealer from 1976 until 1987/8.
Bought for £750, the 3 year old Ital estate in this 1985 picture apparently was a "surprising good car, considering the reputation".
The red Ital had been swapped (sans clutch) the year before this 1987 photograph for the silver Subaru pictured. This was the first Subaru of many in our family - I've had two Imprezas myself! The red Cavalier was another SMT, well SVL by this stage, demostrator. It was a 1.8LX saloon IIRC.
