My parents have just discovered my childhood collection whilst clearing out their loft- it's mainly generic Ford and Volvo brochures from 1987-91 (I think I have a complete set from that period) but there's also a few interesting ones. I've got one for the Capri 280, the BMW Z1 launch brochure from the motorshow (two actually, one's got ink splodges on it from a fountain pen explosion), Mini 30 and a few older ones like an early Alfa 33 one and a few 70's BL ones. I've also got a pack Alfa sent me containing a video of Tiff Needell talking about the Alfa 164 and an original Audi A8 launch brochure in an aluminium case. Are they worth anything?

Once I've sorted them out (although knowing how OCD I was then they'll probably be in manufacturer, model AND date order) I'll let you know what's there.
If you happen to have one for a mk.2 Sierra estate I'd be very interested in that

Right. Time has come for me to clear the loft. I'm sick of boxes taking up space when they're full of brochures I never look at and would allow me to sort the 3rd bedroom out.

I'm keeping the BMW ones. The rest will go on Ebay (once!) in manufacturer 'collections' (so all Ford ones as one lot etc.) if they don't sell, I'll give them away. Too many to list here though.

Also got a load of EVO, Car and Top Gear magazines which I will give away. Random Auto Express and other titles mixed in them aswell.

Steve. Glad you're enjoying them. Even if I say so myself there is some lovely stuff in there. So you're aware, the Mk1 Audi TT brochure is one of the first editions they did - I was working for Audi at the time the car was launched. Useless fact but there you go.

I dumped (literally) three whoe boxes of stuff from the late 70's/early 80's as it was valueless and I didn't have space for it.

That was 3 yrs ago.

I did keep the good ones though smile all in my Dad's loft. I've also got Motorshow guides from 1962 to 1985ish, but I'll never part with those.

On the whole they are worth very little, which is handy when you're buying them. Still need them for 3 of the cars I've owned - 96 Colt, mk1 mx5 nad Golf GTi mk2 all of which seem like gold dust. Was bidding on the latter toay but it went for over £10!

I binned a whole load of brochures and even manufacturer/retailer packs before I knew there was a collectables market for this stuff.

From memory, there will still be a box somewhere with Mercedes stuff from the last 3 years and whatever else was in my desk drawer.

I'll have a look and put up a list...

I have about 6 books for the smart roadster, also I have a 5 year old audi TT book and even the book for the crossfire, and the bmw Z4/coupe in the loft oh and the bmw mini booklets, I only know this as I was clearing the loft out today so I can have some more insulation fitted.
Also I found a ton of Haynes manuals starting from the truimph 2000 up to the Audi A4, plus two 1/12 scale merc radio controlled Smart Roadsters which have never been out the box.

I have a few aston brochures I am thinking of getting rid of. I also have a (sort of) brochure which is very rare, and now, possibly unique. When Aston tried to buy MG in 1980 (see the car, below for the story)

http://www.nutleysports.co.uk/AstonMGB-Silver.htm

Their board prepared documents showing what their proposal would be. I believe these were made for the directors of both companies, so must be very rare. The advert above shows something simmilar, but not quite what I have. If anyone is interested I'll scan some images for you.

That MGB is awful. Is there no depth to which they would not stoop in nailing plastic crap to what was originally a very pretty car. The Alfa spider suffered the same way.

I do have a TVR wedges sales pack that comes with quite a number of 80's TVR magazine cuttings that I dug out the other day though.
It's been more than a year since I posted the above but I still have them. I'd rather get them to a PHer than eBay so if someone is interested and covers postage....

Now. Despite me parting with my collection, what you've said above has grabbed my attention! Should you ever be parting with any of it I'd be interested (even if £'s are involved).
