Two Mini's that I tried to buy a few years ago when they were both in reasonable condition. The first one was a project when parked a decade ago:

The second was a runner about 5 years ago and was still seemingly ok before lockdown but is now showing signs of severe rust:

In the corner of a caravan storage place near me, it's been there for years.

MOT expired 9 years ago, but it's been put on SORN.

A couple of old coaches (Bedfords?) slowly decaying at the rear of a closed-down village garage near me about 10 years ago. The brothers who owned the site tried selling them, but no-one was interested so they were scrapped, the owners retired and another rural garage/filling station was lost forever. Sad really.

Such a shame that modern coaches aren’t drawn with even 10% of the panache and excitement that those were.

I had a look inside the coaches when I took the pics. Wonderfully atmospheric and evocative (if a bit damp/smelly smile). Solid aluminium-framed overhead luggage racks with string netting, orange tinted rooflights, intricate little ashtrays in the seat backs and plush, patterned upholstery in a prickly material. The huge steering wheel and floor-mounted gear change must have made for a serious workout for the driver back in the day!

Surprised no-one was interested a decade ago. What became of the site? Probably full to the brim with shoeboxes now or one big decent new-build!

They’ve had a number of applications and an appeal refused due to proximity to a food factory (noise/odours). I think they’ve now got pp for frontage development only, but nothing’s been built.

Just up the road from me, I remember as a youth lots of interesting cars etc. parked outside slowly rotting away. As has been said little progress has been made, there are some sad looking structures still in place and the whole site is now sad/eyesore. A similar emporium can be found a few miles away at Felsham, this one however is still very active run by Father and Son, with a few interesting vehicles standing about, the stores however is an Aladdin's cave. Typical of it's time you need to wipe your feet as you leave, having said that they are both very knowledgeable and can turn their hand to all the modern stuff as well and are very accomodating and do not charge excessively, long may they stay the same.
