Was looking for a Bentley really but this came up with provenance, condition and low 44k miles.
Great value these days, and looks like a nice example.

Any chance of a thread about your experiences with this car? I've always hankered after one but never had enough brave pills to bite the bullet.

I’ve owned a Turbo R for over 10 years and covered approximately 15,000 miles in that time. I had to get corrosion in the rear arches repaired, also new spheres, but otherwise just regular servicing and maintenance.

I’m somewhat a perfectionist and have had other work undertaken for my own satisfaction, and my average running cost (including classic car insurance) but before fuel, is approx. £2,500 per annum. It’s not cheap to run, especially given my comparatively small mileage, but neither as horrific as you might imagine.

Recently ended a 16 year love affair with a Lotus Esprit. Advancing middle age and nostalgia has replaced it with something more suitable for relaxed touring. As the classic 60s/70s Astons become trading commodities for millionaires this for me is the only thing that comes close.

Having had a GD 427 which was very lively, I have to say, that is EXACTLY" what IMO a Cobra should look like smile
Thanks Mark. Its what I like about it too. The previous owner was fanatical about getting it right and looking like a 1966 well used but cared for road/racer.

Got this one out today...forgot how much I love the combination of a V12 and a manual gearbox.

Well done that man just perfect. I was looking at the advert for that the other week and thought at the time that it was just perfection.
The guy who built it did a cracking job.
Cheers Roger.

Agree, as a kid I had a B&W picture on my bedroom wall of the Cobra production line and they looked just like that.

Well just as the Lancia is about to go to it’s new owner, it’s replacement is almost ready, just needs mapping.

Following a two and half year build, here is my replica of the S1 E2 that won the Olympus rally in the hands of one mr H Mikola

It’s on display at the classic car show this weekend if you fancy a butchers

It’s a replica as in it is not an original works chassis and it’s a 201x build. But some of the ‘replicas’ of recent years are every bit as an accomplished machine, sometimes better by using more modern materials and technology.

That’s pretty accurate...for perspective on the quality of the build, it now owes me slightly more than what my f12 is up for sale at.

It’s a complete new build, but done how the factor did it. Front end is a lhd Audi 80, back end is a ur Quattro.

Cracking looking car you have there. I have a colleague in Holland who tinkers with Audi rally cars and, if I remember correctly, has co driven for Hannu Mikula. The latest car he told me about was running ~700 bhp on an aluminium block. Some of the 5 cylinder engines are now past the 1000 bhp mark which is mind boggling.

Thank you kindly.

once you blueprint the engine, and but stronger rods/bolts etc in, the engines are pretty bullet proof. we've fitted a map controller (carefully disguised as an 80's rotary knob) so we can go from a fairly tame 400bhp, road happy map....to full fire breathing/antilag 700+, and a few stages in between
