Probably built from all brand new parts (other than the chassis plate)

Saw this pristine Merc at the local ASDA recently, elderly couple and local plates so I'm guessing they've had it a while. smile

Square headlights and black grill trim on the scuttle panel indicates this is a post 1982 facelift - Y, A, B or C reg. Last of the line, and as you say, pristine!

Sort of counts as a spot, as it was on the road, albeit leaving a show

Im definitely veering into preferring the unexceptional these days.

Silly me for assuming this thread and forum might be for people interested in classic cars.

Doesn’t that have an MX5 engine? Could still have a V8 badge I suppose ...

Snapped yesterday, lovely TD. Good friend used to have one of these in the 1980s along with his Ginetta G15. He would turn up at Ginetta meets in either one or the other. His was as nice as this, same area too, Oxon. Will have to search out his reg.

Yeah, It just looked similarly slickly done to their products, the colour as much as anything. They use steel wheels and their BGT is a pale green (at least in their ads/website) Might just be a nice resto.

Shame it's not on the original wheels - and did they come in that colour originally? (Or a silver, anyway) ...not sure it was a BL colour on these.

Each to their own - but if it has an MX5 engine, then hey ... fair play ...

Guy round the corner from me years ago had one. Reg: 1 YMU.

It look lower than the V8 version used to sit - but then that might be the angle or it might have dome modern coilover set up ... !

Is that E type the same colour as the "pristine" MGB? ^^^

Hard to tell with colour photos on a screen but the E-Type looks like it has an original Opalescent Gun Metal finish on it. I can't quite see that MGB is the same - looks more like a VAG Graphite?

I think the E type is in Gunmetal and I would hazard a guess that the MGB has been done in Pewter Metallic as per the 580 "last of the line" MGB GT LE.

Love the E-types always been a big fan of the roadsters, but in recent years the early coups are really doing it for me especially in that colour. Chevy looks nice too. Is that the 3100 sidestep?

This brought a smile to my face yesterday afternoon. I’ve seen this car pottering about my local town for a while now:
