Yep you're correct - the sunbeam is coming up as a 1295cc, so clearly NOT a Ti
Why do people go to all the trouble of sourcing the Rare & probably expensive Ti bits etc to make the car look the part.
What Ti bits....?Why do people go to all the trouble of sourcing the Rare & probably expensive Ti bits etc to make the car look the part.
Can't see the rear, so can't see if it's got the Ti rear spoiler, but it hasn't got a Ti front spoiler fitted, and the two spoilers are pretty much the only unique bits to the Ti - other than the Ti side decals fitted to some cars.

How Many Left quote 9 TI's left in 2018. Certainly a lot rarer than the Lotus
In terms of survivors - yes. In terms of numbers built though, the Lotus is the rarer. That's largely as a result of the Lotus attaining 'classic' status within a few years of being sold new.....whereas the Ti's just became old cars and disappeared very quickly.

Allow me
I once had the opportunity to buy one of those in the early 1980s for £3,250 - but thought it was not worth it!!
ETA - just noticed you've done it yourself
My other half saw an orange and red couple of these parked up at a hotel in Edinburgh last week. I'd never heard of them before. Lovely looking cars though.I once had the opportunity to buy one of those in the early 1980s for £3,250 - but thought it was not worth it!!

A nice change from the ubiquitous Escort. Mate of mine had a great Sunbeam; a real hoot of a car.
I had mine 1986-88, back end was a bit light, had to be careful in the rain else it had a tendency to swop ends!Just checked on DVLA and it says Tax due 1991, not sure if that means it survived, probably not. I sold it to a guy who had a Lotus and he wanted it as a run about for his wife. It was in OK condition when I sold it (for about £600) so I'm surprised it was only taxed for 3 more years.
Was great fun, most people didn't know what it was so s bit of a sleeper, shame they didn't have a 5 speed box, revved quite high at motorway speed.
