The guy who owns this place lives up in the village, he used to deal in classic car spares, my wife spoke to him probably 20 years ago about some interior parts i was trying to source for a Manta B,
The Victor estate was there then, but up on the right as you looked through the gate was about 8 mk1 Cavalier coupes and sportshatches and a yellow mk1 Escort Mexico with black stripes.
These seem to have been replaced with more BL/Rootes stuff through the years looking at the photo now.

Good to hear. Can be hard to tell at times.
Really? I wouldn't have said that any of those look like they've been left to rot...Strela said:
I went back to the National Museum in Kabul today for the first time in nearly three years and found all the cars still there. The gate to the compound was locked this time, so no close ups. Please pipe up with any info or observations about the year/spec of the cars. Firstly, some more of King Amanullah's Phantom I as mentioned above
The other Amanullah Rolls-Royce
Is this a Ford?
Four Cadillacs from the time of Zahir Shah, the last king
All the Caddies together
This, formerly the property of Daoud Khan, the first president. What is it?
Pre-Rolls-Royce transport for King Amanullah
For train buffs
Otherwise, pretty much all traffic is Toyota Corollas. But I was up in Mazar-i-Sharif and saw a Wartburg Knight taxi and this Merc truck with Herat plates
Great post! Thank you.The other Amanullah Rolls-Royce

The old Soviet car in Kabul is actualy ZIS-115, armoured version of ZIS-110. 32 were built and total remaining is less than ten. So quite rare.
You can see, how thick are the glasses on doors. They used to have hydraulic lifters to get them up. Story goes, that first 115 was taken to shooting ground, the builder of the car had to sit in the car and then the NKVD people fired at the car.

The truck is not the Mercedes, but a Soviet built Maz, likely model 516 with homebuilt longer cab.
