Good lad! I wish I could use mine everyday, but 140 miles of motorway driving would not be all that pleasant....

Sorry to drag it up but I've been away for a week (holiday car snaps to follow at some point) but, is that a Gilbern next to the Maestro?
Yes, does look like it.

Of course it's a Gilbern [a miserable urinal white one] - But Next to the 2 rusty shopping trolley tintops - which all you on this forum seem to pedant over it hardly seemed worth mentioning. OOI There's been several posts with strong colored Gilbern photos within which nobody ever mentions. Yet my post with a mostly obscured Urinal WHITE Gilbern rates a mention and a question - WIERD smile
Oh well frown

Feeling better, dear ? By the way, that's a weird way of spelling wired.

Possibly because the Gilbern is by far the most interesting?

I wouldn't mind betting there are more roadworthy Gilberns than Maestros, yet the Maestro was a far more important car and IMO quite technically interesting?

Care to elaborate? smile

A speech synthesiser doesn't count, BTW.

Couple from Aldeburgh.

P1800. Lovely car, petite and well proportioned

And then I think an Austin England. Not really my thing, but still wonderful to see in use still

It's an Austin Sheerline. The badge on the back (which I suspect you used as reference) actually says "Austin of England" smile

I concur, it's a manual Twin Turbo with fairly low miles, too!

Yes it does tongue out

I recall it as quite a punchy thing, esp the MG, good comfort and so on, BL trying to fight back against Ford and VW etc. Probably let down by shoddy build quality and not-great engineering or development. But I remember them quite fondly, certainly more of an "oh look! how cool" moment when I see one now, than a Gilbern.

Actually might be a good strategy. Leave a free space and stick a trolley in it. Most can’t be arsed to get out and move the trolley to park!

I suspect that what you implied by "Technically interesting" is not what I inferred form "Technically interesting" smile
