Was this down at The Black Swan last Sunday?
No, I went to Pine Ridge in Camberley instead... I do quite often go to the Black Swan though

There was a couple of Stags, one red, at the Black Swan - very nice.

Is The Black Swan a good meeting? Reading the Facebook page it seems there's some discussion about the food the pub serves for breakfast going downhill?

Black Swan is a lovely meeting. Relaxed vibe and a nice variety of classics. Food is basic, served from an outside kitchen type of thing. But if you like a bacon or sausage sarnie you'll be fine!

Definitely moving into Modern Classic... But sorry ste wheels, painted calipers and the aftermarket RS badge with side strips... not necessarily imo....
A real mix of opinions but we all like different things and I definitely don’t like it Standard.
I don’t see the RS badge as aftermarket as it was fitted to the S1 more of a OEM+
Wheels are reps of speedlines fitted to the RS 200 originals sell between £4-£10k
The alternative to painting the calipers is rusty metal that I don’t like.

What brake set up is that ? Have you got coil overs all round and did you have to weld up the rear if so ?

Black Swan is a great meet, nice atmosphere, setting and mix of cars. The field can get a bit risky in winter though! Can't say I rate my car meetings by the food.

Oh I do... Has to do a good bacon roll and cup of coffee that isn't too watery!

Indeed, people joke about the prices at Goodwood Breakfast Club meetings but the bacon & egg bap with a cup of tea from the NAFFI wagon is always good. Regards the Black Swan people were saying that in the early days the pub did doorstop sized sausage or bacon sandwiches but now it's processed sliced bread and less filling.

That's interesting. I haven't been since last summer. I'm sure it was still doorstop bread then. Must go to the next one to investigate smile

Damn. I had one of those for two weeks once. Belonged to my mate who left it with me when he borrowed my Defender to go on holiday to a Hebridean island where there were no roads survivable for the Merc.
The bloody thing nearly drove me demented. The getrag box was stiff and balky. The suspension shook the fillings out of my teeth. It absolutely didn't want to go in a straight line and I could barely keep it in fuel. Also it was in a particularly frosty February and every corner was a lottery as the throttle and clutch were basically binary switches. I've honestly never been so happy to see the back of a car, even bearing in mind I was doing 700ish miles a week in a LandRover at the time.
I hope and trust your car is better but the 190 Cossie was not a happy experience for me. Good luck with it mate.

I go to the Black Swan most months, but not so much in the winter as I always get directed towards the field!
