Not sure if this is the right place but it'll do until I write a proper readers cars effort, I guess it could also probably qualify for the classics left to die thread.

Anyway I've managed to get my grubby mitts on a new project that was left languishing in here:

Now rather than give everything away while the V5 is yet to appear, and simply because it's Friday, some pretty broad clues to start you off: biggrin

A car from the 70's
Pretty rare in the UK now
A first generation model of a car still in production
Not from the BL production line

So humour me - any guesses what it might be? biggrin

Some good guesses chaps, think further afield from the usual eurobox theme.

Would love another E21... loved that car cloud9

It does have 2 doors though...

I believe the Bristol blenhiem (spelling?) is still in production if you throw enough money at it.

The morris oxford is as well, but that's BL....

clap Virtual beer goes to Sun and Rain, car is indeed of the Japanese persuasion - a 1st gen Toyota Celica. Needless to say it needs a good clean and a decent amount of TLC as seemingly it last saw the road in 1989, but the potential is there. Biggest challenge is definitely going to be sourcing parts.

Some pics of the car in question:

Plan is to eventually get it looking like this:

Readers' cars thread coming soon. Rather looking forward to getting on with this one.
