Found the "standard" Jag prototype

Horrible. The XJ40 was an ugly munter anyway but that's all wrong - the proportions just don't work.

I would have to disagree on both these points. I think the XJ40 is a great looking Jag, nicer than the x300 the preceded it. And I arguably prefer it to the S1 and S2.

This coupe looks very Bentley Continental R in side profile, which is no bad thing.

It had not seen this prototype before. I do like it.

That's between you and your optician! The XJ40 Coupe is a complete mess but you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear. The roof is too tall, the rear quarter too short. The proportions are just all wrong.

The X300 is probably the most successful facelift of all time, turning a car that looked like a plastic model of a 1978 Caprice that had got too close to a fire into a very pretty car. Good old Ford!

The X300 being without doubt the best looking and all round best saloon car in history.
And I'd know, I've had one for over 19 years.
