I got excited when I saw the post on the other thread with a one off French coupe. Found this thread and checked the original photo and then realised that it wasnt the car. Surprised that it has been a couple of years without any posts in here.

It's entirely possible that it *was* a sister car built by that B.P. Energie petrol station owner. It has a lot of similarities, enough to make me wonder if maybe with a few changes from the prototype it could have been our enigmatic car. skwdenyer said:
