Roots Manuva - Witness
Taskmaster burst the bionic zit-splitter
Breakneck speed we drown ten pints of bitter
We lean all day and some say that ain't productive
That depend upon the demons that you're stuck with
It's not a favourite or nuffink, just the first one that popped into my head. Have I ruined your game nervous?

*Noise - not unlike the sound of small change under the influence of gravity*

These lyrics reinforce my mantra that one should always strive to enjoy themselves while they are still young. It is a great excuse to do crazy things too:
The Specials
Enjoy Yourself (It's Later Than You Think)
Carl Sigman / Herb Magidson
Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as you wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
And possibly one of my favourite records of all time:
Fight For Your Right (To Party)
Credits: Lyrics by R. Rubin, A. Yauch, and The King Music by R. Rubin and A. Yauch c 1986 by Def Jam Music Inc. (ASCAP)/Brooklyn Dust Music (ASCAP) rights reserved
You wake up late for school - man you don't wanna go
You ask you mom, "Please?" - but she still says, "No!"
You missed two classes - and no homework
But your teacher preaches class like you're some kind of jerk
(chorus) You gotta fight for your right to party
You pop caught you smoking - and he said, "No way!"
That hypocrite - smokes two packs a day
Man, living at home is such a drag
Now your mom threw away your best porno mag (Bust it!)
(repeat chorus)
Don't step out of this house if that's the clothes you're gonna wear
I'll kick you out of my home is you don't cut that hair
Your mom busted in and said, "What's that noise?"
Aw, mom you're just jealous - it's the Beastie Boys!
(repeat chorus twice)

Schoolgirl Sadie with a classy kind of sassy
Little skirts climbing way up her knee
It was three young ladies in a school gym locker
When I noticed they was looking at me
I was a High School loser, never made it with a lady
'Till the boys told me something I'd missed
And then my next door neighbour
With a daughter, had a favour
So I gave her just a little kiss
Like this....
(Now you've all got that guitar riff in your heads, haven't you

How could I forget this:
"I live in the shadows,
where light is electric,
and time is a number,
that rests on the wall,
And nobody knows me,
my friends and my family,
are as far from this city,
as Washington Square"
Counting Crows, Goodnight Elisabeth (live show 03/03/04)
So very apt.

I used to love her
But I had to kill her
I used to love her, Mm, yeah
But I had to kill her
I had to put her six feet under
And I can still hear her complain
I used to love her, Oo, yeah
But I had to kill her
I used to love her, Oo, yeah
But I had to kill her
I knew I'd miss her
So I had to keep her
She's buried right in my backyard
Oh yeah, Oo yeah, whoa, oh yeah
I used to love her
But I had to kill her
I used to love her, Mm, yeah
But I had to kill her
She bitched so much, She drove me nuts
And now I'm happier this way, yeah
Whoa, oh yeah
I used to love her
But I had to kill her
I used to love her, Mm, yeah
But I had to kill her
I had to put her, Oo, six feet under
And I can still hear her complain
But I had to kill her

"Up the junction" by Squeeze.......
I never thought it would happen
With me and the girl from clapham
Out on a windy common
That night I ain’t forgotten
When she dealt out the rations
With some or other passions
I said you are a lady
Perhaps she said I may be
We moved into a basement
With thoughts of our engagement
We stayed in by the telly
Although the room was smelly
We spent our time just kissing
The railway arms we’re missing
But love had got us hooked up
And all our time it took up
I got a job with stanley
He said I’d come in handy
And started me on monday
So I had a bath on sunday
I worked eleven hours
And bought the girl some flowers
She said she’d seen a doctor
And nothing now could stop her
I worked all through the winter
The weather brass and bitter
I put away a tenner
Each week to make her better
And when the time was ready
We had to sell the telly
Late evenings by the fire
With little kicks inside her
This morning at 4:50
I took her rather nifty
Down to an incubator
Where thirty minutes later
She gave birth to a daughter
Within a year a walker
She looked just like her mother
If there could be another
And now she’s two years older
Her mother’s with a soldier
She left me when my drinking
Became a proper stinging
The devil came and took me
From bar to street to bookie
No more nights by the telly
No more nights nappies smelling
Alone here in the kitchen
I feel there’s something missing
I’d beg for some forgiveness
But begging’s not my business
And she won’t write a letter
Although I always tell her
And so it’s my assumption
I’m really up the junction
I never thought it would happen
With me and the girl from clapham
Out on a windy common
That night I ain’t forgotten
When she dealt out the rations
With some or other passions
I said you are a lady

You don't care for me
I don'-a care about that
