I got sent these by another Welsh friend a couple of days ago. People wonder why I moved away from Wales...

Cardiff is a nice city, you could find photo's like that in pretty much any University town in the country if you looked.

Believe me, none of what you see has anything to do with students. It's the Valley Commando contingent, who come down to Cardiff for their one night out a month, and spend all of their factory-earned wage packet.
It is possibly among the worst (and best) cities in the UK for a night out.

I lived there for a year as a student, I'm not sure I quite agree with what you're saying as I saw plenty of students in a bad way, myself included.

Try the Reflex Bar just up the road from where a lot of those pictures are taken, the only place I've been to where the guy on the door said to us 'Be careful lads, the women in here are a bit rough...'

I notice some of the piccies are taken outside the Prince of Wales too, this is a delightfully chavvy establishment and full of those dodgey old people that sit at the end of the bar of an evening on their own and try to talk to all the younger people while still holding onto their Tescos carrier bag completely pissed.

Go up the road a bit and there are some nice bars mind.

Welcome to the neighbourhood

Ps. It's a LOT nicer than that on normal days, honestly. As people said, virtually any big town or city in the UK looks like that on a friday night.
