Tiffany are a bit like Burberry.
They once had a good name for themselves but tarnished it by cashing in on it with all the cheaper items a few years ago. I think Tiffany make good stuff but now have a chavy image. How many people see their new Tiffany necklace or bracelet on Jade Goody or Kerry Katona.
Some of the smaller heart and tear stuff was nice before everyone had it but much of it now, to me, is vulgar Tiffany stamped footballer's wife bling.
As with anything, why should what other people think matter? They once had a good name for themselves but tarnished it by cashing in on it with all the cheaper items a few years ago. If you/your missus likes it, then why should other people stop you buying your burberry/tiffany/ferrari etc...
It's worth pointing out that the 'chav effect' is really only limited to this country, which makes up a very small amount of luxury brand sales. In hugh Asian, North American and now Russian markets they really don't give a toss what Sharon from Essex wears. Hence why the companies are still raking the money in.
Louis Vuitton has still maneged to retain it's class in the UK though, maybe because it is French. Burberry check products are pretty much a no-no now, but then someone wearing a black £1000 Burberry overcoat is not likely to care about this.

Yeah, spot on. Burberry check is still huge in the far east. I have a lot of Burberry clothes and I am completely not put off by the fact some dodgy oik has a similar pattern on his baseball cap.
